Didn't know this. Then have I to download GIP and install it after the HoI2:Arma 1.2 patch and before the C.O.R.E mod, isn't it?
I'm downloading GIP 0.6, but the description of the file says that it is for Doomsday. Is it valid for Arma 1.2 too? (I know that u are a C.O.R.E supporter, not GIP supporter, but maybe u know this info too)
Well, we do have a co-op agreement, so I know enough of GIP to answer that one. I'm a CORE dev, and a GIP supporter/fan. As GIP is just graphics it's usable for Armageddon as well as Doomsday. The ARM graphics just aren't done yet, that's all. And the 0.7 release of GIP (Armageddon version) is scheduled for this month IIRC. You can install GIP before or after installing CORE (the basic installer that is, not the graphics pack), provided you install GIP into your Vanilla graphics setup (make a copy of the graphics directory first - I know I do).

Then what have I to do? There are 2 folders on the root of the rar file:
-gfx
-mod-CORE2
Should I uncompress these 2 folders directly on the game root folder? Isn't doing this going to overwrite any file of the vanilla game?
Extract the CORE graphics into a temp directory, then copy the Vanilla/GIP imagery into the Vanilla (gfx) folders, and then copy it into your game directory. If you check out the gfx folder you will find all images in it will be marked as 'CORE2 dummy image', and you don't want to have those overwriting existing images if you want to play regular Armageddon, I reckon.
The mod-CORE2 folder (the real game graphics we use in the mod, provided we had to alter them) you can just copy in 1:1, so overwrite the images the basic installer has installed there.
Alternatively you can copy/paste per directory, if you prefer, or use a tool like BeyondCompare. Just remember that the gfx subfolder contains graphics that should not overwrite anything, while those in the mod-CORE2 folder should overwrite existing files.
Obviously the upcoming release will come with an updated graphics pack, and I will supply an installer version for that one along with the RAR version. That takes care of all the tinkering automatically. Since we're already have the Beta rolling I just refrained from re-uploading 200MB of installers for an old release, really. Though my upload speed has been doubled recently (which relatively slow upload speed used to be the main reason not to).

How can the mod be uninstalled? For that, will I need to uninstall the game and reinstall it?
Thanks for all the past info and thanks in advance.
The mod comes with an uninstaller, though there is a problem with it in combination with Armageddon. Somehow the Armageddon uninstall and the CORE uninstall can get mixed up (in contrast to Doomsday - so it looks Paradox actually is to blame for that one). Needless to say that's fixed in the upcoming 0.40, where the CORE uninstaller is moved into the moddir rather than the Vanilla root directory.
But, since we're using moddir, you can 'just' delete the mod-CORE2 folder, and it might be a good idea to revert to a backup of your graphics directory -we don't uninstall images we place into those, as we don't know whether they're still dummies or actually used in the meantime. That's about it, really.
And to be honest I can't recall having played the regular game once in the last two years, and I've heard a lot of similar stories of others (not just Betas and CORE developers). After having played a few bouts of CORE the normal game just seems 'bland', with a simplified tech tree and far too few events.
