I am glad so many people showed up and expressed their interests - sadly we can't accomodate all. I was meaning to have seven players in, but I see little problem with an eighth.

I have placed Maupertuis in the Seleucid Empire, and put myselv in Macedonia. It goes without saying but I can very well switch - the Seleucid Empire may have a hard time containing their neighbours, I would love the challenge (as we have never tested the Seleucid Empire, surrounded by Egypt, Armenia, Pontus and Macedonia - at the same time). Have me know whether the setup suits You as it is, Mauper - or if You'd rather play as Macedonia.

I'd rather not have any player in Massilia, as Massilia is Rome's tributary and has been made one for balance reasons. It is equally hard, and at times unsatisfactory, to either play a tributary Massilia, as it is to play a Gallic tribe. I am not sure You will share my opinion, but I thought we'd place Snall to play as the Parisii, the most likely tribe to succeed. Snall, You are welcome to suggest any other tribe, should You mean to play those: I have very low hopes about them being competitive in the long run - Your opinion might differ.

I feel an Armenian player (with eight to pick from) is needed (more so than Pontus) - as we may want somebody to represent Zoroastrianism. Would Snall want to play in Armenia - but most important: can He be sure about His presence.

I would concur with silktrader as far as Armenia is concerned. The Gallic tribe nation would need a lot of luck considering some of the crutches the AI lives on.

Massilla is a funny one - it looks playable but from a Roman point of view it is probably regarded a pest colonising Greek ideals in Gaul and Spain (thoughts perhaps shared by Carthage).

I am not sure whether it is necessary to rule it out and I would like to encourage all the players that have posted here to pop in on wednesday to have a look perhaps these players can be placed in a co-operative position.

(Not too many mind)

I think Rhoxlani have a chance at doing something, so I'd have no problem with doing them, if you guys would want, but it'd be almost instant player vs player combat, between Bosporans and Rhoxlani. Also, I know how to play each nation pretty well, so I'd more then offer to be a *.

so whats the final setup of players? ;)

As we have found is easier axiom the first posting contains details of the current very provisional 'final' setup of players.

It would appear you have got Pontus. Before the first session of any of these games the country list is always subject to change due to player absence or sudden changes of heart.

ah great, sorry guys.i dont know why i didnt checked the first page

Ah, Gaul... I don't despair to succeed in my SP games as Aedui. But the Roman road roller appears always too soon in Gaul (4-5 provinces for Aedui and Technology level 1 barely reached). In one of my games, Rome succeeded very early to annex Parisii (before 480 I think).

Silk, I only played Seleucids once and very briefly. From this game, I identified several ways to improve my control and command of the Seleucids.
I don't think that I will be able to play them tomorrow (day before MP). So, if you're willing to switch, no problem !
I've never played with Macedonia, but you'll probably make the game more challenging with the Seleucids. That is, if all the other powers don't league against you...

Like I said i'll play anything.

The Mod is complete: research speed was affected, as was the civil war events chain and other minor things. I will forward the files to Seten and Smowz, so that they can check for any neglected issue or possible typing errors.

The changes otherwise reflect next patch's direction, not my own. I was suggested a citizen to RP rate between 2.4 and 2.7, I chose the former - seeing as most in the modding forum seem to agree on that. Take into consideration that there now is a research bonus, which tribal nations may take advantage ov. More details later.

Cool they get a research bonus? That must help out a ton!

It's a mere event modifier, allowing You to chose between: "Sticking to the old ways" or being "Influenced" by more civilised parties ...

A choice between morale or research points bonus - nothing earth shattering: nonetheless a strategic choice to consider. I don't like the implementation, yet - though.

The game is up in about thirty minutes.

Panther Anthro, while I had originally considered but seven players, for stability issues and order, I am sure we will find a free spot once we gather in the lobby.

Moreover, past experiences suggest some may be missing -

I know, but Simon said he wanted to drag me along, so I thought I could come with. I'm already in the lobby, but thanks for letting me play with you guys. Also, I've done rather extensive playing, over the past week, played every major/medium, and most of the minor nations. :p So I don't care who I play, I just want to fight some humans!

Once again, thank You for playing fellows.

You will find the savegame attached to the first post.

I must thank Smowz, who provided a healthy challenge - as well as Panther, who was an aggressive and never a passive neighbour.

I wonder what kept Holistic God from joining us. I will apologise to the Carthaginina player: I don't remember His nick - if You may help me, I will put Him down as Carthage's perm.

Cheers!
