One of the problems with the most recent DLC is that Administrative realms, which I do not like in any way, shape, or form are married hand-in-hand with adventurers which I love with every fiber of my being. I cannot get rid of Administration realms by disabling the DLC without at the same time ridding myself of Adventurers which I love.

Is there any way we can add a slider to take out Administrative Realms while allowing us to keep the Adventurers?

Thank you have a good day!

It’s wrong forum but- you can disable Administrative realms in game setup(the menu where you can disable conquerors and change difficulty at the screen where you choose a nation). Just scroll down and you will have option to make Byzantines feudal

Sorry I've got no idea what you're looking at. That's not a thing.

There is several settings where you can create additional administration realms if you wish to do so, but there's not an option to disable the administration realm in Byzantium. That doesn't exist.

Alternately you can toggle debug mode, switch to East Rome, out their crown authority to 4 and choose in the decision tab a decision to make them Feudal. If you don’t mind using cheats and being unable to get achievements

I'm 1000% with the OP on this. If the CK team is going to be married to this Chapter DLC-bundling thing, they absolutely should allow you to fully control which content of the DLC you want to be active.
  1. I want the Culture mechanics, but I want Royal Court itself to be off
  2. I want all the awesome content from Tours and Tournaments, but I want Grand Weddings to not be a thing
  3. I want the Black Death and Burial content, but I want Legends to be off

For what its worth I rather enjoy playing Clan governments even when I go for, say, a catholic Jerusalem. Building a feudal Byzantine Empire could be a campaign goal in itself. I don't know if starting as the Bulgarians and seizing the Empire reverts it to feudalism, but surely there are ways to do it.

There is but it’s a significant pain that basically requires you to win in the Administrative Empire, become its Emperor, and then convert your realm into a feudal realm.

While I admit it might make for a fun gameplay goal, at the end of the day I like feudal realms and I’m just not a fan of admin realms. And usually I would disable the DLC, but that just means I lose the ability to play as an adventure at any point in the game, which is seriously a big feature.

So my love for being a Roman is being pitted against my love for being an adventure and it’s just a sad affair all around.

Do you dislike admin realms for the lag they cause your games, or is it something else?

I dislike them because I don't like trying to put my family on the seats of a bunch of different themes and seats to try to get enough influence to have everybody vote for me to become Emperor. To make sure I have all the right traits and all the right stuff and I better make sure that I'm the appointed heir of this province and that province and fudge the borders of your province through this scheme or that scheme and blah blah blah..

OH BUT DON'T DECLARE WAR ON EACH OTHER THOUGH!

Even though all of Roman history is literally an orgy of war with provincial governors declaring war on each other and declaring themselves Emperor over and over, don't declare war on each other! You're autonomous vassals! You use 'schemes' instead and spend 'influence' to do things to increase your power. War is bad for some reason. We have to be all sneaky and backstab each other instead.

It's so boring. Like this is my anti-playstyle. I'm the poster boy for war. Call the banners and let me apply my mace to your face.

And what evidence would you point to for byz governors constantly fighting with one another, instead of just claiming the throne and marching on Constantinople?

If the devs do it right, sounds like China in 867 would be the realm of your dreams. With central control weakening, provincial general-governors aka the jiedushi are able to make war on each other more and more easily.
Of course, brokering alliances and sneakily backstabbing each other is also important, it's just that war played a bigger part historically.

probably not what you are wanting, but could a mod solve this? I don't think Paradox is gonna ever allow people to disable massive parts of a dlc, so this may be the best bet.

Asking for a mod that allows this is much more appropriate than to beg the devs to add an arbitrary rule that disables the main feature of a paid DLC.

So you don't like playing in admin realms? Easy. Just ... don't. And if you must play in Byz, then I guess beeline the "convert to feudal" decision.

Also byzantine internal wars are already present. They're called rebellions, and they happen all the time. Unless you've got some serious sources to back it up, I think the idea of strategoi going to war with other strategoi to claim their lands without involving the basileus is ridiculous.

Maybe! I haven't looked. I don't mind modding my game to disable this kind of thing I just usually like to play games vanilla.

Asking for a mod that allows this is much more appropriate than to beg the devs to add an arbitrary rule that disables the main feature of a paid DLC.

They have 8 rule sliders to add additional Administrative realms. I don't think it's much to ask that another slider be put in to disable the Byzantine Administrative realm. I bought the DLC for adventurers anyway and I suspect many others did the same thing. The 'main feature' of Admin realms just came extra.

They had the game the way it was for years before they changed it via a DLC. Why are you trying to argue "But what's historical?" against a previous game design? The idea of random Counts and Dukes having free reign to carve up the lands of their Kings with blatantly fake claims is ridiculous too. But perfectly behaved vassals that never do anything fun is BORING. That's why Paradox didn't design the game that way.

I like playing as a Roman vassal. This Admin realm stuff a minor inconvenience to me as I can just disable the DLC. But then that takes away adventurers and that bothers me. I care about the small things and I think it would be good if people can play the game the way they want to play.

You have no idea how hyped I am over this DLC. Literally the reason I bought Chapter 4. I can't wait oh my god.
