OK, did a manual uninstall, installed the game again - then tried to apply the 1.04a patch, and get "Crusader Kings is not installed" Same thing when I apply the 1.05 patch.

Any chance of getting some REAL technical help and telling us what the patch is not finding to supply this message?

Sorry I only give IMAGINARY technical help. :(
Especially to people who cannot follow instructions. ;)

Funny, the instructions given did not include that tool. I followed the instructions exactly as in the thread you linked and got the same "CK is not installed" message. Me EVER seeing this message is amateurish programming to begin with, and to follow it up with advice that does not fix the problem then belittling customers for your piss poor ability to do your job is unimaginable. You are really a piece of work.

I was more reffering to the fact that you did not read the sticky thread called "You must read this BEFORE posting in this forum." ;)

Glad you got your problem sorted out and can now play the game, thank-you for all your compliments and kind words, it makes me taking my time to help you that much more enjoyable.

Any interest at all in actually answering some technical questions instead of pointing people to a standard playbook which does not work?

None of removing registries, nor running the third party program, nor anything else pointed to here work. If you could simply tell me what reg keys or folders the patch program is checking for before quitting, I could work around it myself.

Or, a patch distributed as a zip file, so I can put the files where they ARE installed, instead of a poorly written exe that erroneously decides I have not installed the program would be great. Or you could write the exe properly, so that it allows me to show it where the files are installed, would be great.

Honey and vinegar.

A zip isn't going to work, as modifications are made to the exe file, and they aren't going to simply send you a new one - for copy protection reasons. They're nice enough that there's zero preventing you from distributing copies of the game once you have it, but they'd rather not have someone able to create a working version of the game by just collecting files from patches. Refusing to ever include the complete exe is a policy to prevent that.

Castellon is helpful and discerning, but he is human. If you are insulting from your first post, you are going to get attitude. Despite initiating a confrontation to go along with any help you received, you did get the tools needed to get your game working. Your comments would have received a better reception had they been better phrased.

At this point I think you should e-mail your problems to Support@Paradoxplaza.com,
As I apparently give no real help, maybe you have better luck with them.

Thanks Castellon.

Would you mind helping me out with the following information:

1) Where did you buy the game and what language is it in?
2) What are your Regional and Language settings. (Windows control panel)

As Castellon said, I would apprecitate you mailing me at support@paradoxplaza.com
