Can't post Screenshot

Hi,

I have a jpeg file on my desktop which is a screen shot I would like to post but can't figure out how to do that

If you go for Settings you can go for attachments and delete attachments there.

You can use photbucket or imageshack to post an image on here. http://photobucket.com/ imageshack.us/

You guys are quick to answer. I just figured out how to delete attachments. Thanks. Still need to learn to get them correct sze. But what does it matter when it says I may NOT post attachments whenever I am replying to other threads. It is only in this Tech Support that it says I MAY post attachnments. Sounds like I need more permissions.

Do I need to? I had no problem using the attachment icon to get to my desk top. That is easiest. The remaining problem is learning how to get attachment into my post so it is full size. But please note I don't have permission (no attachment button) except here in TECH SUPPORT (?)

Anyway, the image above is the screen shot with the error I get trying to save game after I added patch 1.07. But I wanted to post it in the other thread!

When using photobucket or imageshack you don't need permission. You don't need to use them, but I find it much easier and there is no need to get permission to use them in these forums.

Yah, the link works fine. But I'm not getting the screen shot displaying in my post, like Pang Bingxun did above (and everybody else).

I should use the IMAGE icon, correct? THen I paste in the URL as it appears when I click on the image in my PhotoBucket (or ImageShack) account correct?

I did that. I got "INVALID URL". What am I missing?

You need the 'IMG code'. Just click on it, then right click, then click paste.

That takes one to INSERT IMAGE.
HIT "FROM URL".
Paste in the URL.
Leave the check mark on for "Retrieve remote file and reference locally"
And say OK.
But that's when I get INVALID URL.
But you are using same URL I am using, and can do it just fine.
So, what am I missing please? THE IMG Code? OK, will try to find it.

What tells you that it's an "INVALID URL"? The Paradox forums? Your internet provider? Photo bucket?

PS: I could not find IMAGE CODE. Is that over in Photo Bucket? I see my screen shot above is also showing the URL; and getting that to not show is a refinement I'll try making once I get my sword sharpened and and a bit more powder in my gun! Good night, guys! Thanks again?

Yes 'Image Code' is in Photo Bucket, we pointed it out because you were initially using Photo Bucket.

I will not be like that Bo-no-parte guy and going back to Berlin faster than forward to Moscow because continental drift has surpassed his advance!

Very true. Actually, next I need to figure out why my AoD v1.02 plays and saves just fine; but when I add patch 1.07 it doesn't save. Just like that ugly screen shot above!

Could it be because my save file has two words instead of simply being savefile or save_file I'll try renaming it once some kind soul gives me a smidgen of help! "Blue Emu, where are you?"

Have you tried doing as Denniss suggested? i.e. running it as admin and having it installed outside Program Files folder. This works for almost everyone... well, you could be the exception which confirms the rule, of course :unsure: .

I appreciate the info. But I change tactics faster that you can spell out the whole word. How is a newbie suposed to know what 'IMG' is? Yes, I'm new at installing 1.07 and this is my first screen shot on forum. I'm gonna frame it! However, I certainly am not new at Barbarrossa. I think I will actually skip your advice and just do as I originally planned, and instal THIRD REICH (once I fix my 1.07 of course). This might be fun. Good luck saving Berlin. Is there anything in Forum rules about "Heil Hit...!"

As long as rules regarding Nazi references go, I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be allowed. For AAR purposes, though, if you use it from time to time it should be ok (I guess?). It depends on the way you use it - better hear a moderator on this, though.
