I am unable to select multiple units using the 'shift click' method. It is as if the program does not recognize my shift keystroke. I have run diagnostics and the key works just fine with other applications. I've read many forums but have found no answers. Please help.

No idea what the trouble could be.
Have you tried both of them?

Are you on a laptop?
What brand and model is your keyboard?

No, I'm on a E-Machines desktop with a KB-0108 keyboard. I tried several different combinations last night with the same results. When I hold down the shift key and then click on a unit in a korps, the program simple brings up the division information. Ugh.

What is the driver?

Do you now or have you ever in the past used a keyboard remapper?

I'm not totally sure what you mean by 'remapper'. I have used other software which allowed me to modify the default key commands (Battlefield 1942, FarCry, etc...), but I have never changed my keys unilaterally.

Let me check with something out and get back to you.

If you trying to select multiple units located in the same province then you need to either:
  • first click on one and then hold down the shift key and click again to add the next unit in the stack.
  • drag-click to select the entire stack and then remove units by clicking on them in the infor panel on the left.
If you are selecting units in two different provinces then you can shift+click on each one in turn and they should be added. Clicking again on a unit will deselect it.

Hope that helps.

MrT was my "Something out" in this case. :)
Thanks for the clarification.

Now we're getting somewhere. OK so I CAN select multiple units in different provinces using the click shift method. However, I still can't select multiple units in the same province. For example, in my 1936 German campaign I have four single air divisions and would like to combine them into one force. When I select the Berlin province the four air divisions show up on the left menu. When I click the first division (before or after pressing/holding shift) the window changes to that particular air division's stat's. Am I the problem here?

Try the drag select method.

I've tried that too. It does work, however what I end up with is a group of units selected. The trouble is that when I then try to select specific divisions from that group, let's say 3 out of a group of five, I run into my origional problem.

Try that again.

Drag click over the area that contains the divisions you want. You will now have a list of all divisions in the panel on the left. Now, holding down the shift key, click on the units that you don't want in your group. Each one that you click on using this method will be removed from the list, and the ones that remain are the ones that you can issue your orders to.

Does that help?

Here is what I'm looking at. In my 1936 campaign, I'm looking at several units parked in Berlin. Interestingly, when I drag over Berlin I can only capture the land units there, although there are three air divisions at the airfields as well. The only way I can get them all is to select the province itself. So, when I do here is what I see in the left menu area: 8th Squadron (1 unit), Luftflotte IV (1 unit), 28th Squadron (1 unit), III Armeekorps (5 units), 12th Corps (1 unit). My objective here is to merge the three air divisions into one. Now, when I hold down shift and click on 8th Squadron, the stats for some ME 109s comes up in the info box. Now if that happens how do I select/unselect any of the other divisions in the list, the list is gone! Shouldn't the list of units in the province stay visible as I select/unselect them?

Erm, this may or may not be a dumb question...but when you say you're clicking on them...

Which of the following do you do:

Click on province, list comes up in left panel...you attempt to pess on one of the listed units in the left panel and it goes to the info screenie.

Or...

You click on province...see "Oh, nifty, air wings! w00t! DIE FRENCHIES!" You then proceed to click on the army guys in the province, all the while imagining what you'd do if you say a giant arrow thing coming at you during this time. Once you click on them...a bar appears representing each armies organization. You click on the one you want, then hold shift and click on the others.

Just a thought...
