As you will remember, I started out as a sub in this game, playing Burgundy, that most of you expected to go the way of the Dodo.
However, after a victorious war against France (and the subsequent vasal chaos) it seemed that Burgundy had a future ahead of her, and I could play as a perm.
However, in light of Balance, Hyperteching, Gangbanging and whatever other fancy words usually used to cover one's vile acts or get others to fight a third party, And in light of the future of my country, I requested an edit to become Holland (losing French culture in the process) and then gradually retreat from France to give her room to take her place as a balance to (mainly) the Habsburgs.
In his infinite (well, you could argue about that one ) wisdom, our GM decided to make me Flandern instead (probably some nationalist sentiment ) depriving me of one of the two reasons to request a tagchange (the first being historical leaders).
So the question is, do you think I should get some/all of the Dutch events, or something else to "balance"(edits, fantasy events) against other countries' (generally) positive events? [I know there are some countries that have some nasty events, but the general trend on historicals IS positive]

i`m and i was always for mixing BUR/FLA/HOL leaders/events in the one playable country. As far as i remember Hive did such thing in New Order II.
Secondly, i dislike a lots people would like to see this country in the border and the role of Holland. Such country (and the rest situation at this game) make game balance, diplomacy, intensions very unclassic and much more interesting.

Holland
Advantages:
Great leaders, great events, bonus pack when spawning
Disadvantages:
Small territory, few cores, powerful neighbours
Burgundy
Advantages:
Large territory, early start, many cores
Disadvantages:
No events nor leaders
Both these packages seem fairly balanced to me and although it would be nice to have the best of two worlds for any player or nation I don't think it's really neccessary in the current situation. Also NO events is really better than BAD events that some nations experience during the last part of the game. Random leaders are in the game already and readily available for players. There was no discussion of a Burgundy-Holland transformation before the game. Being one of the most powerful nations in Europe I fail to see that Flanders really need boosting in the name of balance. Im fine with Burgundy not having to take the historical route but since Austria/Spain is already weakened by that I don't feel other nations (Flanders) need to be further strengthened. I can't really see a single reason for giving Burgundy Hollands events but many against it. Of course should Holland ever spawn I'd say that Forzaa should have the first pick to become them for shouldering the somewhat ungrateful mission (Similar to fx playing late game Venice or even Portugal) of playing Burgundy as long as the spawn was a spontaneous one, thereby gaining the nice events of Holland. My 2 cents...

1 flandern is different from holland as tonio sayd and 2 if you look at flemish leaders they aren't exactly bad either alowing you to explore world easy by 1580 dutch can't do that and last didn't you get dutch leaders already stead of flemish ?

After a lot of talking with Forzaa and after Burgundy beeing edited to Flandres with Dutch leaders, I think adding her also Dutch events would be good. Just change the tag to HOL and get over with it.
