Alas, got a call this am from a school district needing someone to sub. They are making up snow days, so I am off to save the day for them. <sigh>

Sure, Spain is more important than most nations, even though Venice do have a lot of colonies. I think we should focus on getting a new player. Ask around in ICQ if you like, I'm not online till 18 CET.
 
I will be late tonight, so start without me.

As new CEO of our building, i have to attend a tennantmeeting. Starts at 18.00 hours, so i will probably be a small hour late.

I hope everyone shows up on time that hasn't cancelled. Then we should be enough to play. But if one and two selects to behave egoistically it might be the last attempt it seems which would be a shame. Maybe it's only a matter of changing days?

I'm very glad i was allowed to play Venice, Portugal sucks bigtime with that low manpower, tech and so on.

Deals to be edited please:

Rio Grande and Matagorda to Venice, Spain receives 80 ducats.
Porto and Algarve to Spain, Spain gives 3 italian provinses in return.

Venice gets Rhodes from Ottoman, who in return gets Tangiers.
 
Much better session. Things going well now but game lacks competition. Spain and england work together to rape AI and france is idle. Are their any enemies in fact?

Actually England isn't co-operating with anyone at the moment. England intended to help vs Portugal since Portugal attacked Spain. This was asked from the Spanish regent himself. The delay was only due to Portugal being offlimit since then.
 
England declared war versus Portugal and took Zanzibars COT and South Africa and the 2 atlantic islands. Portuguese raiders sacked a Manu in Ireland but England built a few new ones anyway. Englands income increased substantially, partly due to a COT spawning in NA and another in the pacific.

Venice intruded on English claimed land west of the Mississippi but yielded the land after England DOWed.
 
Session all right for sweden.
Our ally Russia called us twice for the rape of polish AI, then Sweden dowed Denmark to achieve the unification of Scandinavia.
But this war took longer than planned because of Iceland (and the lack of long way fleet in the Swedish army), and because of the rebels in Copenhagen who were tough to kill.
Finally Denmark remained with Iceland, Copenhagen... and Holstein that Sweden reserved for Branbenburg...
That's why we consider as a true aggression the vassalization of Denmark by Brandenburg a few months later.Sweden has been honest and fair with the Germans, they haven't :mad:

On another hand, i must say it is not easy to do some diplomacy with an ally when he doesn't speak english :eek: ... but he's OK, never mind.
 
Well in real diplomacy you can't expect everyone to speak english.

This could evolve into a really funny game, if all nations only spoke the native languages :)
 
So good we managed a session with all the permenent players, though some country switching made it too unpredictable for diplomats to work. I hope we have seen the end of this.

The Ottoman Empire particaipated in the partition of Poland, and saw three manufactories being burnt down, right before conquest. What a waste of science and money! The Knights on Rhodes were annihilated, that was an outdated organisation anyway, and two hungarian provinces were taken. With not-so-good sultans conversion was difficult, but nonetheless continued. Ak Koyunlu was also cut down in size and vassalised.
The alliance with Venice was renewed and they managed to expand a bit. Rhodes will be traded for Tangiers, a place finally liberated from the Portuguese yoke.
 
Venice was in a much more nice state that Portugal, and i managed to expand it some. Something Portugal did not have the ability to du to manpower of 30 or so.

The usual (English model) maptrading was made with Portugal, who also agreed to give me Tangiers, Oporte and Algarve in exchange of....well nothing.

The evil islanders on (ehh forgot the name) was defeated, and the isle was returned to the rightfull owner of Venice.

Through hard negotiations with Spain and Ottoman Empire, provinses in both Italy and Rhodes was returned in exchange of newly gained provinses from Portugal.

Minor differences with the Imperialistic England about where the Missisipi really is, was "solved" with a DOW from England who swiftly took what they saw as theirs. Venice agreed to these terms, not wanting to risk a major war in the far away land of redskins.
