oh wow, great!

Joakim: Yes, I think the Royal Marriage will be one of the most important features in Crusader Kings. If the player cannot give birth to a successor then chances are that he loses the game.

Ahaha, I can imagine it now... my great monarch has spent sixty years of his life building a huge and powerful empire, but has failed to produce any sons, so I spend a small fortune in order to marry him to a princess forty years younger than him in a desperate attempt to keep my kingdom alive! This is going to be so much fun!

Mmmm... great! :)

There's lot's of new info there!

"When it comes to the number of provinces there is in the game, there are some 900 provinces on the map covering Europe and the Middle-East."

Finally we get some more info on the map! How many provinces is EU in the same area? 320? Hm... three times as many provinces :)

"Yes, there is an event engine, and it will be easily editable. Leaders and monarchs are portrayed differently in Crusader Kings, but I assure you that the elements of it that the player might want to modify are modifiable."

Great! :D

"Many things in the game will change the prestige and piety values, and if I play out of character then they might fall very fast. I would be considered a social idiot, an unworthy impostor. So other people might gain claims on my lands…"

They can gain claims to my land   ... Wow! So - you can end up in the wrong end of a crusade? Sound's great! :D

These are what i found most interesting:

"The player will see in some form what happens during the battle."

-I'm curious how indepth it will be, obviously not a full fledged battle on screen but it would be cool to get a little more detail than eu2.

"With non-feudal territories your gain may become feudal or retain its former system."

-Wonder what that means as far as economy, loyalty, military, etc. I assume you'd get their special units anyway, but would it make them produce more economically and be more loyal if you kept their system since you're giving them at least some autonomy? But on the other hand would it give you more prestige if you made it feudal and maybe you'd have more control over the province if you installed your own leaders.

Just a few things i was thinking about.

Why would you lose the game though? There would definitely be brothers and sisters of the ruler and their children can fight it out, I surely hope you'll be able to support one of them

LOL. Placing Medieval-Total War close to Age of Empires already discredited that title in my eyes (I don't like click fests). Does anybody know something about Med.-TW or have a link? I'd really like to compare them.

I hope so too. But strictly speaking that definition applies to EU also because you get to see the fire and shock numbers, the count of remaining troops and that little arrow which shows you how the battle is going. Hope it is better than what is stated for 1.05 patch.:)

900 provinces???
uh oh, great. we are gonna spend MONTHSSSS on complaining on the names, size and features of the provinces we know about
let's strick a thread on "inaccuracies on Spanish provinces"...
:p

Wonder if that counts sea zones. By my calculations (which have no basis in reality) that would mean that cities won't be separate entities from provinces. Maybe a few of the larger ones could be.

With one of the Snowball guys working in cartography, the maps ought to be pretty accurate.:)

Just a question, how does the 900 provinces number compares to the EU2 province number? (taking into account CK is played in a smaller area)

If these 900 are landprovinces you can compare that to ~320 in EU2, If these are a total number compare to ~400.
