I know democracy ends at the boundary of your little moderator kingdom, but it would have been nice to hear that you'd take my point to heart - if you have to tell your users to do such basic things as to shut down possibly conflicting software for debugging purposes they are no mega-pros and disconnecting from the internet while lowering the shields might not be obvious to them.
Again, it's not me needing your advice, but I think you could serve the community better by giving instructions that keep the safety of the users (customers!) system in mind. Remember, every bit helps and if it's not the Pros that hold security high then no one will.
