sorry if this question has an obvious answer, but is there some reason why friends cannot load the converted EU4 game despite having the same files in the mod folder as well as also having the save-game used? i loaded up my converted run several times just fine in single-player but when I tried to share it with friends so we could play together I was plagued by a multitude of issues that I have no idea how to begin on rationalizing. It was as if they had none of the files needed and nothing we could do could align our checksums, or even get them to load the correct map at all. to be more specific, i noticed that the mod was not detected in the launcher unless they moved the descriptor.mod file into the mod folder. if they just had the mod file in the folder as I did (in addition to the conversion folder), the mod was not detected in the launcher.

You either didn't transfer the mod folder or the .mod file has an invalid path. Which should be obvious since people have different usernames.

1. Transfer both the .mod file and the mod's subfolder.
2. Edit the .mod file on the target computer.
3. fix the path.

Alternatively on original computer simply publish the mod and have the friends subscribe to it.

Is the CK2 mod up to date with stuff from EU4? Like if I have all DLC for both games right now, will it work or did the devs stop updating it along EU4? Just wondering cause I know CK2 is done but EU4 keeps releasing patches, would it be worth it for me to do a CK2 run to merge into EU4? I know EU4 has still been getting frequent updates.

It supports the most recent EU4 version, yes.

As for dlc, the team tries to minimize interactions with those except where unavoidable (ex, Monuments) to maximize compatibility.

Hi,how do I use the converter on the newest version? The earlier version had a frontend file but this one does not.

Hey, quick question, is there anywhere to see a full list of mods the converter currently supports?
No. It supports HIP/swmh, and imperator cnversion mods. Best to try yourself on a test conversion.

The "Sons of Vinland" mod doesn't seem to work with the converter anymore. Hopefully you can make that compatible, it's a fun mod for CK2
It was made compatible by a contributor who played it. If you wish, try to make it work and I can integrate the patches. Personally I never played it and won't make compatches myself.

I have noticed that some of the CK2's Great Projects/Monuments give a -5% prestige decay at level 4 when converted to EU4. This seems to be an oversight, as just one of them at max. level completely prevents prestige from decaying (EU4 default prestige decay is precisely 5%), making a state's prestige 100 the default. It is needless to say, that discovering this with 2 such monuments is amusing, but also gamebreaking a bit. Will there be any plans to nerf monuments imported from CK2? For example, -1% prestige decay at level 4 seems to be reasonable.

Thanx for the report, this has now (hopefully) been nerfed to a sane level.

I got several great projects two times. Like the pyramides or hagia sofia.
I converted a ck2 game on exact 1444.11.11
It's possible the two monuments have slightly different requirements. One is likely vanilla eu4, and other is out monument that wa ssupposed to override it (but apparently now just stacks ontop).

Go com common/great_projects folder of the mod, and delete 103_pyramids_of_cheops.txt for example. If that helps remove the second pyramid please report back. Ditto for 111_hagia_sophia.txt etc.
