actually i did a test a while ago and posted the results here, not sure if you guys remembered

20 tests yielded Byzantine/Seljuk ratio of 13:7

Dev and live would have been very different versions, at the time. In addition, that'd be the opposite ration of what we would want. The troop numbers are a range, and random on how many in that range. For the most part it acts as a hack to make the AI act a certain way with their troops, as they form up their troops differently with even a small amount there.

Any early reports on how the update impacts performance? Wasn't going to come back to CK2+ until I can get rid of India (for lack of a powerful system), and that neat little feature doesn't seem to be back yet

uhhh.... okay....

Last patch (4.07.2) fixed a major trade route issue increasing the speed by 50%. So I dont think 20ish provinces will have an impact bigger than that. Or 200.

What's all this about personality traits? Is that traits that were in the game already, or something new...?

Players can have 8 personality traits. AI is still limited to 5. - To be replaced with "Challenge" events.
Could you explain this a bit more ? What challenge events ? How are they connected to the traits ?

I believe this is an implementation of this idea from the suggestions thread, with an increase in the limit of "personality traits" that a player character can have before events fire to remove, or in this case challenge, them.

So I had started a thread (Link) talking about having more control over your character and I was told to start writing stuff up and posting in this thread for review. I decided to focus on the events causing you to arbitrarily lose traits since that irked me the most, and made some decision event dialogues and choices that I think would be balanced to replace whatever event fires when you simply lose a trait. Let me know what you think about the following:

Challenge to Just Trait:
-Scenario (gold is <100):
“A group of peasants have brought a wealthy and influential merchant to your court, seeking justice against him for ‘deflowering’ their daughters. They claim he was caught red-handed on multiple occasions but has avoided justice through bribery, and they beseech you as their just ruler to punish him accordingly. The merchant asks you for a private audience and says, ‘My lord, many merchants in your lands depend on my business contracts and I would be more than willing to make a hefty donation to your treasury if you were to see your way to ruling in my favor.’”
- Option #1: “I suppose if you swear not to do it again…”
- Results: Lose Just trait, get ‘peasants are angered’ (+1%global revolt risk) for 2 years, gain 250 gold (can be scaled up based on income)
- Option #2: “You think I will betray my principles for money?!”
- Results: Slightly reduce prosperity of capital county, -10% taxes in demesne provinces for 2 years

work in progress.

In hindsight, we probably added too much stuff.

2 months on, I see Mongol lands are still in the latest version

Is this plan still on?

As probably the only guy here who plays Nomads, can't help but feel replacing Mongolians with a bunch of Central African nobodies feels like an..... erm, very weird decision to make

You have no idea what the plan is. I don't know what you inferred from that picture but it's probably wrong.

@FakeShady in case you assumed that we are adding Central Africa but removing Mongols, then no, we aren't doing that.
The normal version currently available includes both Central Asia and Central Africa, and it is going to stay that way. That old picture you were quoting was WIP from the "No India" submod that is scheduled to be released at some point in the future, to carter to those that feel like India, Tibet etc are boring and only reduce their game's performance. But that will be entirely optional to use.
I personally quite like India and the Mongol plains, so I will assure you I don't want to see them removed in my game either ;)

Is ck 2 plus compatible with newest 2.8.2 patch?
Dude, that was released literally hours ago!
I reckon most of the (European) team are still at work atm. Give us some time please ;)

Since the patch is rather big for a maintenance patch, I assume there will be conflicts with CK2+ that will have to be compatched. But yeah, that will take a bit of time to asses.
In the meantime, you can play of course (the game doesn't crash for me at least), there is just no guarantee that there won't be bugs.

OMG why can't people stop being entitled and just wait for the modders- who do what they do for us for FREE and as a hobby -to release a compatible version ? The patch has just been release ffs. I swear if I ever start modding I'd be banned of the Pdx forums for flaming those kind of people a little bit too hard.

Anyways, thanks to the team for making our CK2 experience even more complexe et complete, may Plus live as long as the game is updated, and beyond !
