Hey so this "tribal to feudal" option...is it just for the player if you start Tribal or does it do that for the entire map?
Because some of the nomadic blobs going full feudal right off the bat sounds kind of horrific and broken

Will the EU4 converter still work if I don't enable India?

yes

all tribals go feudal

A rather technical question:
How excactly does the "ai_austerity" modifier work and when should it be checked for in an event?
I stumbled about this some time ago, and now I'm wondering how it is implemented. I could possibly go through all the files and figure it out myself, but I want to be a little more time-efficient and thus am asking you directly.
Basically, if I have an event option that costs money, and am already checking whether the AI could pay it, should I still check whether it also does not have ai_austerity?

No idea.

If I remember correctly (which I may not) that is a question for @Rylock

Ahem okay, maybe let me rephrase my question:
"ai_austerity" is an event modifier that is unique to CK2Plus as far as I can tell, is located in 02_CK2Plus_timers.txt and thus treated as some sort of timer. It appears, for example, in your version of bankruptcy_events.txt, but not in the vanilla file.
As far as I can tell, it is sort of a reminder to prevent the ai from getting into debt or the like, but I can't seem to find when it gets applied, how long it stays and what exactly is its scope.
Given that the later event files seem to have fewer or none instances of it, it might be that this is some sort of legacy system that is either defunct now, or you have forgotten about :p

So in case you know, please tell me what it is for, and if not, maybe poke whoever added it at that time ^^

Edit: Okay, maybe it was Rylock then...

Wiz added it. Good luck asking him about the system, if it even works anymore.

o_O:confused::eek:
Okay... that is like *legacy* then.

I think I'll just walk along and pretend I didn't even ask...

A good day to you all

ai_austerity is set and removed by decisions in CK2Plus_maintenance_decisions. It's function appears to be to keep the AI from spending money during certain circumstances, such as if it is trying to buy a higher tier title, is losing a war, is deeply in debt, ext.

What Omniscient says is correct. I implemented it to prevent the AI from splurging on things like retinues or buildings when it has something it needs to save up for (like repaying a debt, or a title it needs), or when it's in a position where holding onto its money is a good idea (like during a war). It's accounted for in most events where spending money is an option, though it might still take said option if it's something that could also conceivably be important. It's not legacy code, unless it's been removed since i left CK2Plus.

Nah it's still around, just hasn't been touched for better or worse.

Can someone tell me what event and decision files contain information on what cultures will turn into what religion for the "embrace the old ways" decision?

Okay thanks for clearing that up.
So I guess I'll just throw in a modifier in my events that make the AI less likely to pick the money spending option if it has the modifier, while not completely forbidding it.

CK2Plus_conversion_events.txt, the second event.

How do I form the Carolingian Empire in 769? I can't seem to find a decision or a title to create.

Also what happens if said Empire doesn't form? Can the HRE form in the future?

After taking all of Neustria, the A one, and Lombardy as Charlemagne it should be available in Intrigue decision list and tell you if you are missing any requirements.

And yeah HRE can form in the future but...not at the same time as Carolingian I believe.

Hey guys, I noticed in the current Beta 5 that certain congenital traits no longer have the "inheritance_chance" line attached to them. I believe these are the same traits that have the option of starting off hidden. I was wondering if someone could tell me if the inheritance_chance line was moved somewhere else, or if I would need to modify a different file if I wanted those traits to be more readily passed on?
