I am having trouble converting my save into EU4. I started in 1000 startdate as duke of Transylvania, eventually I got to create the Titular title of the Kingdom of Romania, but there is also a big Wallachia from Moldavia to Ukraine. I tried to export just out of curiosity, and it crashed. I tried to use the console and surrender all the revolts, excepting the peasant ones .. stil did not work. HRE and ERE are both destroyed. Could it be because of the two Romanian kingdoms or because of all the big number of dukedoms and kingdoms emerged from the two empires? Or because of the custom empire setting from Charlemagne?
Tried exporting a fresh startdate of 1000 and it worked, so the map should not be the problem.

is it just plus?
if it is, can you please upload the save and write which version of the mod it is?

At schism, what determines which counties/characters become Catholic or Orthodox. I noticed, while playing in Poland, that my priests sometimes had Western Rite traits, and sometimes Eastern Rite. Does that affect it at all?

What is the console command to grant someone the 'Dreams of Conquest' trait that Seljuk and Sabuktigin (Ghaznavids) have that gives them their Invasion CB?

The console command is "add_trait bloodlust <character ID>" - but that trait doesn't give them their Invasion CB, it only makes their AI more aggressive. The invasion CB has its own conditions, and the various historical hordes are specific exceptions to those conditions, so I don't know if there's an easy console command to pass that check.

Characters with the Latin Rite or Greek Rite traits will become Catholic or Orthodox, respectively. Provinces, and Chalcedonian characters without either Rite trait, will become whatever their direct ruler/liege becomes. Rulers without either Rite trait can choose between the two based on several factors (culture, location, what any of their lieges switched to, which Patriarch was their religious head before the schism, etc.)

@vukica I played some more in that save, and as I was quitting the game I decided to give one more go for the export, and it worked this time ! Kinda strange, but I'm glad it works now.

oh, f***, sorry. I mixed the saves up, I thought you had division by 0 save.

yeah, converter is a strange beast. I didn't have time to check that out, but I will before the next release so it shouldn't happen again.

Hey all. Does Byzantium usually remain Iconoclast, or do they renounce it? I just started playing CK2+ again after a long period of time, and I don't think I remember them going all the way to the 9th century without renouncing it, but they've done so this time around.

I've also got no events that build towards the Scism, for some reason. Although, I'm only in year 873.

it can go either way. schism will happen a bit earlier if byzantium is completely iconoclast.

Alright. I'm wondering, do Cynics have a better chance of choosing that option?

Also, is it possible to Restore the RE as the HRE? If it is, I think I'll form the HRE (I have that option at the moment), but if not... I'll go with what I was planning - form the Kingdom of Jerusalem, then try and make a Germanic christian empire in the middle east/africa, aha.

Just wondering if ck2+ mod will add anything in the form of items and special items? Like ulfberht swords for norse and germanic, charlemanges personal sword "joyous" with a small martial and prestige bonus? And if these sword might becom dynastic sword with the possibillity to inherit and make claims ( like in AGOT with the blackfyres).

Apologies for bad grammar

This mod actually exists already, on the workshop, and it is designed specifically to work with CK2+.
It is called "Historical and Fantastical Artifacts"

I had been hoping to use some of the religion icons from Ancient Religious Reborn in a new mod I'm working on. TheStormWeaver tells me the icons originate in this project, so I shall ask here instead: may I (with credit) use some of CK2+'s religion icons in a different and separate mod, please?

Many thanks,

nd

Ah, þe usage policy must have fallen off þe sticky list again. Here you go.

Hello, I've played around with CK2+ and I've got to say I really like it. I do have a few questions that I've sadly been unable to find the answers to myself.

1. What determines a weak Basileus for the ERE upon coronation? It feels like my good heirs are viewed as weak and my "special" heirs are viewed as strong.

2. If a roman province is destroyed somehow can it be restored?

3. is there any difference between Orthodoxy post mending the schism and the pre-schism appointing the supreme patriarch? (I think that was what it was called, sorry if I'm wrong)

4. Does crown authority always go to mid from absolute upon succession or is it only for emperors with "weak Basileus" trait.

5. What are all the mechanics of the Imperial administration? (Compared to something like Feudal for example)

6. How do you manage your council under Imperial administration? it seems like I can either A. Very angry vassals but somewhat avoiding imperial decadence or B. Have happy vassals but constantly get "Your councilor is terrible at (Whatever job they got) ", +_ imperial decadence!"

7. Is there a list of what raises and lowers imperial administration?

8. Is there a map of all the roman provinces anywhere?

stats, traits, previous ruler and patriarchs opinion.
2. If a roman province is destroyed somehow can it be restored?

it should be, since it's regular landed title. the lockout law might prevent that though...

3. is there any difference between Orthodoxy post mending the schism and the pre-schism appointing the supreme patriarch? (I think that was what it was called, sorry if I'm wrong)

well yeah. first of all, it doesn't have to be orthdoxy that does the mending. you can do it as the catholic. but which ever religion mends the schims becomes the main religion, and the other becomes a heresy.
appointing patriarch supreme will means everyone will remain chalcedonian and split won't happen.

4. Does crown authority always go to mid from absolute upon succession or is it only for emperors with "weak Basileus" trait.

always IIRC, but goes back up if you get strong basileus trait during coronation.

5. What are all the mechanics of the Imperial administration? (Compared to something like Feudal for example)

you get duchy revokation, vassalas can't create landed duchy titles, and on inheritance you have a chance of "removing" the duke from office either by taking the title for yourself or giving it to someone else.

6. How do you manage your council under Imperial administration? it seems like I can either A. Very angry vassals but somewhat avoiding imperial decadence or B. Have happy vassals but constantly get "Your councilor is terrible at (Whatever job they got) ", +_ imperial decadence!"

compromise. you don't need every powerful vassal on the council. select a few who like you best. use advisor slot for the those who are realy powerful but have poor stats
7. Is there a list of what raises and lowers imperial administration?

nope.
8. Is there a map of all the roman provinces anywhere?
not all of them... but: http://i.imgur.com/q5WYS5n.jpg
