Separate Cities: Skylines II forum when? This is a mess.

EDIT: There is now a separate forum. Better late than never I suppose.

I hope this game has a deeper simulation, has moddable laws, is less focused on how cities look and simulates more than just traffic, and includes essential features like player owned industry and modular services. Cities Skylines fell into a rut where DLC after DLC came out allowing for making these largely hollow tourism spots and buildings that mostly just looked cool and didn't feel like they were really simulated or fitting into a simulation. Hell, take it even further and have class and industrial simulation over time. I also hope they make things more consequential in terms of feeling like people are actually growing up in the city you created, rather than people only showing up and averaging everything out as time goes on.

I hope CS2 will have the mechanic that beach can be built and the residents actually can use them in which CS1 cannot do! Crossing my fingers!
As it states on Steam:

Beach Properties Asset Pack

This asset pack has everything you need to bring life to your waterfronts. “Beach Properties” includes a vast collection of assets that makes it possible to build luxurious beach housing areas, opening new possibilities for customization of your city.

The trailer reminds me of that for Life By You, it feels like this is 'Cities By You'.

Not pre ordering unless Linux support is given. I want official support be it native or proton. Also where is the left hand driving? This is a must have!!!

Please for the love of god change the UI, It looks too cartoony like a mobile phone game and the colour scheme just hurts the eyes.
Is there a UK/Australian building theme?

Overall however, The game looks pretty good.

The pre-order package includes a Tampere map. Nice. (it isn't the one created by Mr. Miyagi, available at the Workshop? Right?)
Now, will we also get buildings suitable for this map - the 60's/70's white / light grey panel houses that Tampere has so many of in the suburbs?

That's what it looks like! I'm more intrigued with the different options there. I see single family house...row house...small apartment...medium apartment with shops...medium apartments (but odd icon design)...large apartments.

Looks like you'll really be able to get ahead of zoning heights/density and really get specific looks.

For commercial, hoping to have an option for shops with parking...and without. Something that fits in suburbs, and something that fits closer in to a city (still low density, just no parking lot between the street and business.

The game looks significantly better to me and more like a mix of SC and CS1 which is what I wanted. Only downside for me is the release date, same month as SpiderMan 2 and Assassins Creed

Most probably not.
Different game, different mechanics.
Agree...but it looks like a HUGE amount of DLC and mods are baked into the game, so that's a win. For example, noticed some large sports fields in there (not like pro stuff, like recreational). Most important, looks like a lot of important stuff is baked into the game engine - that was always my #1 hope. Game launches with less 'stuff' but a more powerful base engine to allow growth.

Would be nice to expand on what the minimum and recommended spec mean, especially considering recommended spec is pretty high:

Is minimum a "It will run" or a "you can expect stable 1080p60 at the low settings"? And same for recommended, is it 1080p/High, 1440p/high? This information might influence purchasing decisions over the summer for some people...

Or use the summer to get a second job to buy a screaming new gaming PC!
