I saw a picture once that stated that the universe was indeed round but on a much larger scale than our map

Thank you...

Or the edge can represent worm holes, they'd be adjacent to random provences in the center! There would still be your strip of PTI (now I get it!) between the two halves. It'd be cool.

We could do that same thing with random provinces all around the map, A province in the west could link with a province in the North East for example. Or, we could have those provinces transcend Intergalactic Space, a wormhole from one Galaxy to another.

The whole map is a single galaxy and as the distances to the next one are too big we can't go there. This solves the problem of what to do with the border-provinces.
Pack ice should be replaced by meteoroids and storms by worm holes.

I like the pack ice and storm ideas, though they were mentioned before, but the map is going to be two major galaxies and several minor ones.

Wouldn't that mean there would be too few provinces to go round? One Galaxy seems fine enough.

Really ? Didn't know that.

Two galaxies would be fine, too. But before we fly away dreaming of such a mod is there anybody who can modify/create a map that it looks like we want it to ? I don't know much about modding.

I can make maps but I need a concept drawing first

Is anyone still interested, 'cuz if you guys aren't... I'm going to go head and make my own personal one.

Also, where do I get the patch for 2020 provences?

Thanks.

I am still interested.

The EU2 beta patch for more provinces is located at the bottom of the beta patch thread. Look for it in the main forum.

Okay, thanks. Reveilled, I think the life of this mod is up to you... (I see that you're logged in)

Ill do the map but I need a concept drawing

This certainly sounds like a pretty awesome idea. Sign me on for storylines, events and whatnot. Of course, that'll come after the "real" work of building the map >.<

My suggestion would be to model the universe on Joss Whedon's "Firefly" universe. It's not fully fleshed-out, so we get to come up with some of our own ideas, but also provides a theme for the storyline: The Second war of Independence. :D

Nice to have you onboard Rhodz. :)

Could anyone suggest concepts for buildings in the city view?
I mean, should all the buildings just be air domes in the ground? Or what?

If you have any of the "Dune" games, you could use sprites off that, or any space game for that much...

Anyone played 'Emperor of Fading Suns'? That would be a perfect setting for export into EU2.

Is it really a good idea to have more than the one galaxy in the scenario? Andromeda is 2.9 million lightyears away. You'd have to be going almost three million times the speed of light to get there in a year.

I think it would be better to have the map like this: http://www.esa.int/images/imageL,3.jpg

Then you can get much more detailed on planetary systems and such.
