KOM Though I agree with you please calm down a tad. I don't know how you mean to come off but the way I (and him) get is hostility. Which we don't need.

god... i never though that writing this way i would piss someone but fine... still i have somethings to tell YOU :

first, not only a 14 year old child would write like me, actually i have a friend from spain that is around 40, and he does it as well, not to mention my school teachers.
second, people that aren't used to internet, or nooblets like YOU call them, don't even know what "lol", "rofl", "lmao" means, not to mention other words as well
thirdly, YOU don't like the way i wrote before, but it seems that YOU also commit the same sin. It is not everyone who knows what HoI means. If i asked YOU what wc means, probably, YOU would say it is a place where people go to urinate and do other things, but it is not, it means Warcraft.
fourth, i really don't care how much posts YOU have. i know people that all they have to do is to spam every single thread and say useless things (sounds familiar, no?) , thus the reason they got thousands of posts...
fifth point, join date doesn't mean anything either. why? i just registered last week because i wanted to play CK online, and as anyone knows, paradox games don't have hundreds of people in multiplayer like others do. also i registered only last week, but i have been watching these forums like 1-2 years ago. i have tried almost every single eu2 mod (including MES, or EP which has a damned good ai), and hoi core mod, so do not think that a guy that just joined yesterday, is a total noob, thanks

P.S. oh, i almost forgot, but to me, who is having low standarts here, in my opinion, its YOU

Christ Almighty, I just skimmed through the last few posts and I'm just shaking my head right now. Could we please channel all this anger and animosity to the MP game and calm down here?

i really dont know what is the problem of grabbing kingtitles... usually it takes more then 1000 prestige to do such a thing...

question- EST? u mean eastern usa? heck, that is -5 hours diference from GMT (Lisbon,London)... that means that when its 10pm in eastern usa, it is 3.00 of the morning in here

Yep, Eastern USA. At least, I believe that what time they're using. If that time doesn't work for you, there's probably a more European-friendly time game going on, since it seems most of the CK players are European. However, if you don't mind staying up late, it shouldn't be a problem.

I would note that if that rule was intended to be copied over from the Great Game, then it is rather unclear in the first post. Our rule was that you could grab anything you liked, unless the target was excommunicated; in that case, you were only allowed to grab Count titles.

Alright. Well, we should probably see if we're all on the same page, then. Personally, I don't think it sounds like a bad rule. However, I am a bit concerned that too much land could change hands at once. Did this happen often in that game, or was it not so often?

i am not feeling angry (right? right...)
it just passed throught my mind that kiev will cease to exist... i wonder why...

but ok, back on topic:
iron skull, the game is this next friday, you need to tell me the few things i asked you, else i fear that you may not be able to enter the game (i think)

EDITED: to me its fine at 10pm (eastern usa), i have the whole weekend to sleep if needed ;)

Ah, I remember those days. Then I had a kid.

you speak like if having a kid was some sort of a curse

Nah, not a curse...but kiss sleeping late on weekends goodbye. ;)

Drug em.

I think alot of people have gotten that feeling once or twice. It will diminish with reason untill something else happens to bring it back. Which it will I'm told.

Turns out I might not be hosting to many more games since I'm joining the Marines.

Ego you should probably get ICQ so we can stay in touch easier.

Sorry I was busy today and last night. Tommorw ( or today cuz it just turned 12:00 :p ) I will post all the questions you had.

The only times that kingdom titles changed hands were when a player beat up on the poor hapless AI; and even then, I think we always did it by taking the kingdom one county at a time, and re-creating the title when we had enough. My usurp of the King of Sweden title is the only exception I can think of.

On the other hand, by the time you reach 1400 (as we did last week) everybody has claims on pretyt much everything. For example, I've got claims on King of Poland, King of Rus, and King of Lithuania, IIRC. Plus a bunch of other kingdom titles that I haven't checked on, because they don't belong to my major enemy. All of these were acquired by event. So the stability of player kingdoms in the Great Game can not be attributed to lack of claims alone; it also has to do with the strong balance-of-power orientation of the players. Nobody wants to grab a whole kingdom in one gulp, for fear of badboy wars against humans. We tend to shave off a county here and a duchy there.

not only a 14 year old child would write like me, actually i have a friend from spain that is around 40, and he does it as well, not to mention my school teachers.

That is most unfortunate. I feel sorry for you; bad schools are the curse of mankind. But there is really no need to fall into the same bad habits.

If i asked YOU what wc means, probably, YOU would say it is a place where people go to urinate and do other things, but it is not, it means Warcraft.

On these forums, actually, it usually means 'World Conquest'. You were saying about your long-time lurking?

But in any case, I am not objecting to abbreviations, per se, but rather to the habit of sloppy posting that is difficult to read. 'u' may save you a half second of typing, but it costs your reader the same amount of time to decipher. Multiply that by five or ten readers, and multiple times in one post. It is just plain rude; it costs you nothing to write proper English, and it makes things a lot easier for the rest of us.

people that aren't used to internet, or nooblets like YOU call them, don't even know what "lol", "rofl", "lmao" means, not to mention other words as well.

True; what's your point? Are you really so proud of your intarwebnet vocabulary that you need to show it off on every occasion? "L00k @ me, i c4n t41k 1337!" It does not impress anyone over the age of 14; it just makes you look silly. And noobish.

Alright KoM, that sounds reasonable. Not having played MP before, I've not taken into consideration the Balance of Power being put into place by human players. While legitimately usurping a title that you own most of wouldn't cause huge ripples, just inventing a claim and swallowing up an entire kingdom would probably cause a bit of a backlash I suppose. ;)

Heh. You should have seen the commotion (well, perhaps you did) when Sterkarm created the Kingdom of Rus. He didn't even take it from a player, he united the AI duchies; but he still managed to start a huge war against him, that ended in a free Rus. (Which the Mongols, alas, ate for lunch, so he got most of it back when they DOWed him.) Even now, two hundred years later, when Poland-Russia is struggling just to compete for dominance on its own Baltic coastline, Poland is seen as a war-mongering badboy, easy to unite against.

I have a request - Since I'm playing as a female, when she dies, a country cousin would normally take over - which scares me. Cyrus suggested playing with Elective law, and playing that person when they take over...but the problem with that is that person may be sixty years old and unmarried, thus it could happen again. So, here's my question...would anyone mind if I married the Duchess to one of the minor courtiers in my court or in one of my vassal's court, and then play the heir from the marriage after she dies? It would be a new dynasty, true, but at least it would have the legitimacy of coming from the Duchess. Plus, I'd gain no title claims from it, since it would be a randomly generated courtier.

Ya it's fine. Truth be told I was thinking of passing a rule where the player can still play his kingdom even if his dynasty ends.

Iron Skull,
Like an idiot, I remembered something that might help you in your quest to connect. I have Norton Internet Security on my computer. Even though I turn off the Firewall portion, it will not let me connect unless I turn it all off. That might be your problem.

Cyrus,
How much time are you talking about until you leave?? Just to know off hand.

All,
So, I take it the usurp part of the rules doesnt meet with approval?? Its fine but I just want everyone on the same page.

Honestly, never having played MP, I don't know which would work best- usurping or allowing to just outright claim. The problem with usurping-only is that you cannot ever get a claim on the titles of Navarra, Nubia, and Venice, since they have no Kingdom-specific provinces to Usurp. Perhaps we should give it a shot with allowing outright claims, and if that is being abused, reinstate the usurp rule. Or, just gangbang anyone who gobbles up too much at once. ;)

let me make this clear... i am not a nerdie that just keeps spamming the whole forums. i have been around for quite some time, but just to download stuff, not to speak, or watch those useless AARs. As you can see, i just posted in this thread (because i want to play MP).

no, i am not proud of my "intarwebnet" vocabulary as you call it. but i see that you, mr king or whatever you are called, dont have a FREAKING mirror at home, as you also use abbreviations (you said before you don't have any objection against abbreviations, but i don't see what is the diference from writing "U" or "DOW". when i was new to this goddamn forums, i didn't understand what it meant (DOW), and i didn't start a war against other users. just to give you an example, i don't even know what vannila or whatever you guys call it, means, and as you can see, i am not complaining like a 14 year old kid to everyone who uses that term).

now, when you spoke about our schools, that actually was a good joke, and i really laughed when i saw it. first, look at the corner of this post... what do you see? Location: Lisbon, Portugal. someone who is sucessful in his/her studies in Portugal, will be accepted ANYWHERE, be it usa, uk, france or any other stinking country. now i wonder, if our schools are SO BAD as you are saying, why are we accepted anywhere?

just to finish this damned speech, if i was a total noob like you stated before, i would never get my face into these forums again because of your hospitality. i have registered and spoke in other games forums, and NO ONE welcomed me at my 6th post the way you did. If you are so intelectual, superior and educated as you say, i still wonder why you said those things to me.

P.S. Now, just to show how nice i am, i will stop using my "intarwebnet" vocabulary, and speak like a doctor as you want and i HOPE both of us will not speak about this issue again, thanks

EDITED:
question- how is the diplomacy working in this game? is there any special rule? or we may double attack a nation owned by a human controled player?
