Do we need to get gold in every achievement in every ruler to get all the awards? Because I'm one county conquest away from full gold on Konan, but I own every county on the list. I have no idea which one hasn't counted or why. I'm wondering if I have to restart if I want to unlock everything

We don't know the answer to your question yet.

If one county is not counting toward the reward then there's almost certainly a barony in it that's not part of your realm. :)

Yep, as Karlington said, check if a religious order or some other ruler either holds or is the liege of a barony, city of temple under one of those counties.
Happened to me. There was I, happy to conclude my list... only to find out that a random count in the Holy Roman Empire blob held a barony in Anjou for himself.
I rather played a few more generations of the wedding game until I managed to inherit that barony instead of going to war 10 to 1 against the HRE.
What matters is that it worked in the end, I guess. lol

Is there any news on when the next challenge will be released?
Not yet, but it's likely to be up in the next few days.

In relation to points vs rewards, my guess is that given the initial one gave us up to 8 more points than needed for the first reward, that you probably won't need to do every level of challenge to get every reward. But as we don't know how many challenges there will be, or how long it will run for, you might need to do all, or most of the challenge levels.

It's not impossible for Paradox to add more rewards down the track, either. Though my guess is the ones advertised are the full set.

Okay, so I have an issue. Right now, I've got 13 of the 15 provinces (all but devon and cornwall). However, the challenge says I only have 12.

Additionally, it says I have 12/15, but also that: "Available Score: 2". Anyone else running into this?

Usually, that means that something inside one of the counties isn't held by you (or one of your vassals). I discovered that two Barony titles had passed outside the realm via a vassal inheriting an outside greater title.

Playing as Llywelyn is really fun! I love that they're using non-bookmarked start dates for these challenges.
Is there a strategy guide thread for the Monarch's Journey challenges? If not, could one be sticked?

I would love something like that, the previous challenge kicked my butt and this one looks even harder (no, I'm not very good at this game)

For the "Princes of Wales" challenge, do dead dukes count? Wales only has 5 duchies so do I need to conquer more land to have 9 living dynastic dukes at once?

Uh, just fired up CK2 to start the new challenge and I see that my progress from last month challenge didn't save even though I got all 18 points.

EDIT: I still have the save file.

It happened to me too. Then I scrolled through both challenges and the points came back. :)

I like that idea. A stickied thread to share your strategies, succeses and failures, as well as general discussion, replaced as new challanges arrive, but with the old threads linked in each one for people attempting older ones.

I'm expecting it has to be living Dukes and a large part of the challenge is that you need to expand out of the 4 dejure Welsh Duchies.

No matter what, you have to do something to get the three counties held by the English at the start. It can be done without war - form the Kingdom (easy) and arrange for one of your vassals to inherit that county will force it to become Welsh territory. This can de repeated until you have enough vassal Dukes.

Otherwise, assuming Richard lives to a ripe old age (highly likely) you will probably be best to swear fealty to him, pick up land through fabricated claims or landing claimants (but be careful not to get them Ducal titles while you are still Ducal tier, or you'll lose the holding they have!). It's trivial to war for the three counties if a Duke under England. Then to become independent, it's easiest to form or join the independence faction and win the civil war. Most likely you will need to wait out Richard's reign, though. He's awfully hard to assassinate as everyone loves him except John and maybe a couple of others. Satanic power can help, but basically needs you to be in his realm or at war with him. And if you ARE at war with Richard at the height of his powers, you've mis-stepped.

By swearing fealty and being instantly one of the most powerful lords of the realm, I found it easy going. Richard even handed out two Duchies when I asked for titles! His (ahistorical) son Henry proved pretty unpopular and was easy to declare independence from.

Yeah, I had a slight panic on that when I saw it, but it's just that the game hasn't re-loaded the data yet. I started the new challenge and the previous 18 points were there. Have done the English Spooning gold challenge and now have the Pageboy haircut and am 2 points into the Chaperon.

I am planning on adopting the beard, pageboy AND chaperon on my first CK3 ruler!

Hi everyone,

We understand that some of you may be collectors, getting your hands on everything you can find.
As with almost every content we create, rest assured that there will be other ways to obtain the funny hats, beards and rewards at a later date.

Best,

Will there be a way for those of us on Linux to obtain them?
