CTD when loading Saved games

CTD wenn load Save

Darn, well, hope someone has good suggestions. Since Today, wenn i load a save, any save or scenerio, I CTD. got a p4 3ghz and 512 memory so dont think the basis is the problem. Reinstalling, defragmenting, virsuscan, antispyware scan, scandisk all doesnt work. It just seems my PC "hicks" or "coufs" (dont know the right english word) and then ctds....
More suggestions?

I suggest making sure you have the latest version of DirectX and renaming your EU2 avi folder so that the introductory animation doesn't run. I'm not sure how likely that is to work though.

Have you done anything to your machine between EU2 working and it not working?


Oh, and the words you were looking for were "hiccup" or "cough".

I am afraid none of Owen's advice will work in this situation, although it may help to reduce future problems, and how do you know he does not have the latest version of Dx?

Sounds like your save has become corupted some how, Are you running any user mods, have you edited any of the files yourself?

Can you load one of the autosaves and continue from there?

Well, i installed the newest drivers of my video card, altough they were hardly old (two months) but it seemed to help.

Ill take you advice Owen to indeed prevent future problems.

My directx was up to date, and as i said i couldnt loady ANY save or scenerio, all crashed.

But still, happy i can play again

Then indeed you want to rename the AVI folder and also very important make sure you are set to 16BIT color.
