What about Traits like the Color affecting the "skill" of the dragon?

The black dragons seem to be more aggressive (Balerion / Drogon) then others. This could be used to make different "kinds" of dragons wich affect the skills of the rider.

Greetings

It is an excellent idea.

Perhaps it should be renamed "companions" or something like that and all animal companions (dragons, dire wolves, bears, even whales) and maybe even other things could eventually be included as characters there.

Grey Wind, Shaggydog, and the skinchanger's shadowcat should be more than just traits. They should be characters to, with personalities, histories, and the ability to breed and be passed down the generation. It would be an extremely enjoyable side game.

Yeah. That would be really cool, I wonder if its possible to do?

I thought it was possible but it's hardcoded sadly

I was never good at modding Paradox Game's interfaces, but if they don't want to mod in wolves (and other such creatures) like they do dragons I might make a submod with it myself. That shouldn't be too hard.

I modded in new localised names for the months based on great kings and the Seven (dragged backwards through Latin into High Valyrian) with my playgroup.

The "Seven" names which we ended up with were

  • Aenyculon (The Crone)
  • Vyrgon (The Maiden)
  • Ferron (The Smith)
  • Vetyron (The Warrior)
  • Laetityon (The Mother)
  • Persapyon (The Father)

We don't mention the Stranger, of course. I think they could all be good names for Dragons.

If other people want to use our months, then add these to a localisation file. It adds a bit of flavour, and isn't too confusing!

I'd say use Greco-Roman and other ancient divinities - Mars, Artemis, Zeus, Zoroaster, Ra, Tartarus, and more "obscure" ones like Cybele or Echidna, even if they're spelled differently - as a kind of nod to the real-world, because why not?

This. I haven't even played the mod more than an hour or two yet, and I know this would be awesome.

On an only tangentially related note - since the character system is being used for places and dragons now as well, wouldn't it make sense to change the localization for "Lowborn" to just blank space or at least to "No House" or something similar? I find it somewhat smirk-inducing every time I see a lowborn ruin (the stone-and-mortar kind, not the kind you can hire in Fleabottom for a coin a night).

Won't this add to the size of the courts? Effectively reducing fertility for larger ones?
If the dragons aren't of the same dynasty, I don't think so. House fertility--if it's tracked at all; the only fertility modifier I remember is court size--should be related to number of dynasty members and not number of dynastic offspring, no?

I think it's based on how many courtiers you have, regardless of dynasty

Propably, but if it affects large or small courts depends on perspective. What is more of a threat to dynasties is if dragons add to child count.

Oh cool beans. I was just thinking about this last night, wondering what the months and days would be called.

Chalcyre, Vanglarion, Verendion, Drakayr, Aestion, Glaurung, Pestyre, Timerion, Maelar, Ancalion, Fangrys, Deltherion, Rhaeltherion, Laengar, Ancagalon, Famlyre.

Although I like all these names, there are two that you might not want (unless you are looking for easter eggs) see if you can spot them.

Also a combination of Belerion, Famlyre, and Pestyre alive together would be amazing.

Hmm... So does this system mean that individual characters can now have multiple dragons?
