Dunkerque is also a good candidate for more defensible terrain, having been besieged twice. Not sure if it should be urban or swamp (or a river/mini-strait like in Hong Kong), since the main German defense was actually flooding the fields around the city (IIRC). Besieging a plains province just doesn't make sense and rarely happens naturally.
FTR, I'm also not advocating more "detailed" province borders or a complete redesign of the world map. The minimalistic HoI-style borders are fine design-wise, IMHO. The image was just the first one I could find on Wikipedia that showed the division I had in mind (3 cross instead of 2 long). It only helps that this was the historical division anyway. If we used it, Oppeln doesn't even need to be made urban, since the city would actually be quite close to the province border to Breslau.
 
I'd be all in favour of a splitting of the current Breslau province in 2 (or even 3) parts, as I agree that turning such a big province urban looks a bit weird (although, in fact, that's what I did).

I'm only wondering if this would be feasible, i.e. how many AI and other event files would need to be changed for just such a "small" modification to the map...
 
The only new province would be Liegnitz (Oppeln and Breslau would just be rearranged). A quick search through the files indicate that Breslau (ID 473) is only mentioned in the peace events in "hoi2.txt" and the triggers for a yugoslavian coup (that don't need to care about Liegnitz). I couldn't find it in the ai files or anywhere else (the minister ID 473 occurs at a few places though...).
 
Australia has a problem with very low manpower. Apparently it builds no single land division in the early years because right now it builds infrastructure. That makes quite some sence economically. But increasing infra from 100% to 200% costs 10 manpower and Australia starts with a total of additional 1040% in the building queue. This leaves no manpower for additional land units. In any case Australia has a very high ic/manpower ratio, so building Interceptors and a navy would add to the total strength of their alliance.

Pang, unfortunately your latest version did something that broke AoD in color, which added a lot to the game. The 1936 scenario just stopped loading, and the error file doesn't make any sense to me.

Roebert, i think you need to figure out that yourself or give a more appropriate error report. i think Adolphin has already fixed your problem.

@Pang: is there any hope for a new exe?

Certainly needs changing, would improve the usefullness of those brigades a good deal.
 
Assault guns should also have at least one more model added to the '43 TD tech (the SU-152 is a honest-to-god assault gun, not SpArt*, and development started late '42, making it a '43 tech in game terms). Their main weakness is that they start to become useless too early; otherwise a mix of SpArt and TD is a sound concept for a brigade. Maybe have later TD/SpArt techs add another point of hard/soft attack each, to represent improved ammunition.

*Currently, all of the Soviet SpArt models after the first (never heard of a SU-37, and Wiki links to the Su-37 Jet Fighter) are actually assault guns, not (indirect fire) artillery. I don't know of any Soviet SPGs comparable to a Priest or Hummel that actually went into production during WW2, so it's probably best to leave the model names blank (or add some prototypes if one can find them).

I see very nice changes, although i think, that adding Stalin's line to USSR is very important. Maybe a little forgotten story, but it's known as an epic fail of soviets, that shortly before german invasion that line was abandoned and "moved" to the new western border (as Molotov's line). It was in fact quite powerful, at least on some sectors.
Forts of level 1-3 should fit, and give some potential in defence especially, if further improved. After annexation of eastern Poland, an event should give a choice to keep old line and raise revoltrisk (or leave on same level) in annexed provinces or to move to new border (for lower cost, than building from scratch) and lower it or to keep old and start building new for normal cost.

Pioniere: theis first name in generals.dk is the family name. the person is called Kenneth Stuart and not Stuart Kenneth. he is already in of course.
