How is this still not right? 18 heavy subs, all on Interdiction or combat patrol, both day/night. All 27 were first set on province only but could not engage either. Then when it appeared the British Navy slipped away, they were dispersed, but the Luftwaffe reaqcuired - no joy from the subs. 1.12, set 71. This is going on still?!?
Did your subs have forced engagement on? Normally they wouldn't voluntarily enter into combat when the enemy fleet has a carrier.

Ah sorry for missing that. Sorry in advance, I also have to ask - were they on forced engagement before you initiated the mission? I remember having that issue before, where they don't fight to the death if you set forced engagement mid-mission.

Yes. In the (rare) times I use S.I. and subs (SSH's usually) vs B.S. and CV IV's, I always have SSH's on forced engagement. Only exception would be if I can't pull off Sealion. Then I might break up the formations and convoy raid without FE.
 
Why I am I not allowed redeploy missiles in allied airfields is it because of their lower technology or was it never intend to be so?

Hmmm. I'd also love to see air bombers being able to co-ordinate with naval units (ie if one spots a fleet, both quickly do) - but not sure it can be done with the current mechanics. Naval warfare in AoD has always been a mystery to me...

1] "Auto-promote leaders" does not work properly... commanders seem to get promoted to the field marshall regardless units they have assigned
2] Production - Auto control window - Auto set production sliders - prioritize reinforcements : also does not work properly... It always prioritizes production

1. auto promote unfortunately only looks at the leader file for promotions, promoting only those who have a higher level of rank, not how many units they have under their command
2. production prioritization is higher in the priority list than reinforcements, so if you have both selected it will fill the production lines first and then reinforcements

I don't play this anymore because you can't convert ground divisions from one type to another, no multiple brigades for ground divisions and no editor.
well, to have something like that either aod needs to sell more copies or you will have to wait for aod2 to get something like that in ^^,

Not that I have tried, but wasn't there an editor released by someone for HOI II? Might that one work? Also, if you post edit requests here you will usually get help.

AOD never had the ability to convert ground units, with the exception of upgrading Lt ARM to regular. If you use clusters of 3 divisions (Corps) or more, you can vary the brigades assigned, with good effect or flavor.
