AGCEEP is a mod. FTG is a reworked core engine. What are the differences/changes?
This will come with future versions of AGCEEP. When game will be published, community will be able to adapt the mod to the new map and new features. Map is still in Garbon's hands but our goal is (and ever was) clear. We will thus be able to break all EU2 limits at one time, AGCEEP remaining of course free.
Adapting the biggest mod ever will not be easy. In between, all other mapmods will be fully compatible with only required adaptation of scenarios and setup file. One day should be sufficient for this.
AGCEEP is a mod. FTG is a reworked core engine.
AGCEEP will be ported to FTG when it's ready.
Yes, that's right. But remember, several AGCEEP team members are in on the FTG project too, so the AGCEEP port has a head start. So just to get this clear, FTG is a reworking of the game engine for EUII to allow for greater modability. Once ready then the best mod for EUII will be ported to the FTG engine and then the doors opened for all people to mod further?
Am I correct understanding it this way?
Reworking the map system was not really an option with our limited manpower. Same with mapmaking; and since Garbon was already in the middle of making a map, it didn't really make sense to start another anyway. That's how I understand it as well, and then not having a new map is an odd choice.
It would have been grand to just have a complete earth map available where parts could be switched to PTI with the setting of a flag.

the game was built on the EU2 engine.Does this game come with any of the new parts of EU3 or does it have the problems that EU2 had before. The reason I ask, is I don't think I could go back to EU2, not because of the map or historical events, but because of things like advisors, National Ideas, Army compositions etc.
They tried "For the World" but the acronym wasn't politically correctAnd why the name "For the Glory"?

AGCEEP with current map will be bundled with the game. It was just impossible to adapt it to a new map and to the new features of the game (plenty!) without the help of the community. New map will thus be published just after the game and big adaptation will start.Johann's teaser decribes For the Glory as being based on AGCEEP and featuring thousands of events etc. But isn't really just a rework of the game engine and then mods like AGCEEP can be adapted to this engine? Will it ship with AGCEEP? Will it feature Garbon's forever-in-progress map?
The name was my own idea and members of the team approved it. There is irony inside, we weren't sure we could go until the end of this project. Even with extended knowledge of EU2 features, start was really hard understanding thousands lines of source code...And why the name "For the Glory"?
See above post for explanation about new AGCEEP map and why it won't be included for obvious reason. I understand your idea about PTI but such feature can't be implemented without reworking the structure of the map and it was not affordable in a first version. Map is the hardest nut to crack in the source code and require specific skills. Nothing is impossible but this was not the right time for it and we had so many things to implement before...I wasn't talking about a major reworking of the map system, just the incorporation of a complete map (ala Garbons) with the possibility to then flag provinces as PTI. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the point of this product, though.
Not sure I can answer to this question. Paradox should tell, including possible pre-order campaign. At what price point will it be sold? Full retail price?
There's always beta testing!I think it's too late to send my paperwork off now.o
