OK, guys, I am now back from Karlskrona, and I bring sad news :( :( :(

I did not find a single swedish naval commander. Typical, isn´t it?

But fear not, for I have a name in a history book standing in my glorious bookshelf with... a rear admiral!

I have not tried TGW since v 1.0, so i'm a little behind on things, but what the heck is the communications brigade supposed to do? All it's doing right now is slowing down my army. :p this might look a little off topic lol.. just haven't been paying attention these past months. Great work though, I am having a great time blasting through everyone as Germany. One observation though: china a bit overpowered. They have enough resources to sustain an economy of 300-400 IC if they choose to expand their 1 IC provinces. True they get plenty of splinter countries, China was pretty crappy during this period.

If you look back in the original Russia events thread, youll find my outlines for allied involvement in the Russian civil war.

The Allied north russia expedition is a favorite of mine, I might be able to help with that.

They're meant to increase the organisation of units, but it would appear that that doesn't work.

So in the next update they'll just go faster instead.

Yeah we know, fortunately. I'll leave Patch to comment on this if he notices.

Have you seen the ones that Stephen has already written? :)

More info in paragraphs!(for shadow knight)

Ok 2 things or maybe more:
1)The shore bombardment value of ships is tooooo much.Myself decided to make it 1/2 of the given in units file becasue as a German i couldnt take Antwerpen because the whole UK fleet was positioned in the nav. area around. So any thoughts?
2)Why is there no 3rd choise in Shliffen plan like before(the choise not to use it i mean). As a human player it whould be a good choise for me to use it.The AI of cource should be historical.Ok i realise the history behind this question but its not a problem to include a non-Belgium drive just for the case.
3)Me thinks that HW section is ok but should get a little more SA bonus(1 or 2,like a tech that gives to it only org. bonus should also add a 1 point SA).
4)I have a strong feeling that gas units are not working as WAD.It seems that since they use Rocket unit of HoI (maybe hardcoded) they dont attack tactically but rather strategically.

Is it possible to tale over one of the red or white factions in russia after the imperial goverment falls?

No, and please do not start new threads!

Gzav, reallocate to where you seem fit, just not here!

Actually, yes you can take over any of the new factions.

Just save your game, exit out to the scenario selection screen, select your saved game, right-click on the country shield and change it to the new faction you want to play.

Stephen, doesn´t the russian revolution simply change russia into SU?
It does do that, but then it triggers an independence event for the two revolter factions - the Russian Whites and the Russian Federation (that controversial name :) ). So you can then re-load and play as Denikin or Kolchak if you prefer. All three factions get core province claims over the whole of Russia.

StephenT. in reference to the russian civil war. the events for the different factions. what resources were used and or are they enlightning. just wondering i am reading about the white army in southern russia from 1918 to 1921. if you do not know thanks anyway.

Mostly general histories, nothing too in-depth. I did read Geoffrey Swain's Russia's Civil War for a bit more detail - and I've played Azure Wish Edition's Rossia 1917 (by the publishers of Europa Universalis!) and Ted Raicer's Reds!, both of which had extensive players' notes. Plus I recently got my hands on the Purnell 100+ issue History of the First World War. :)

I'm well aware that the research behind the war isn't as compreensive as it could be, but then the nature of the HoI event engine and the fact that the game situation in 1917 is likely to be completely different to the real-life one do rather limit what you can do. Anybody who wants to volunteer to do the March 1918 scenario can probably do much more in terms of setting up the historical situation.

I don't know if this is the right place to post questions.... but I'll give it a go. Playing my first game as Germany VH/F, I've noticed that sometimes I get the normal penalties for attacking at night (-50 for attacker, -40 for defender), but other times I get a -40 penalty while the defender gets +125. The +125 bonus wouldn't bother me much, as it was probably pretty hard to attack trenches at night in ww1, but the inconsistency is really bugging me. It seems like I'm always the one that gets a -50 penalty when I'm the defender, but the AI keeps getting +125. Another thing that's really hampering my game is that I cannot take ANY french province along the English Channel. As soon as my men enter combat, they are hit with MASSIVE shore bombardment penalties. For example, in February of 1915, I sent 30 divisions to hit 8 French divisions in Lille from 2 different provinces. A few days later I noticed my forces were getting decimated from a -116% shore bombardment penalty. The bombardment penalties need to be drastically lowered, or at least give the RN and French navy a lot less battleships.

I take it you added the night penalties to the Inc files? Or was this a dload?
See the above thread for info on what might be the problem.

I didn't add anything to the inc. files. I did a clean install of HOI, patched to 1.06, and installed TGW 1.04b.

Never mind on my part then.

I really like 1.04b, I have played several games and won oly after a struggle. Ive played as both Germany and Austria Hungary. As Germany My Verdun offensive suceeded so quickly that it turned into an avalanche that won me the war in the west. As Austria right now I am overruning Russia with Germany and am enjoying doing so. Good job!

That never happens to me :(
