This mod has been around before. There were some bugs which I managed to fix. I decided to share my work.

The game is still officially in a Beta stage. I have run the game through to the end of WW2 many times and have found there are no game-breaking issues. Just some graphic improvements and some other minor tweaks here and there are still needed.

Do let me know if you have found any major or even minor problems with the Mod.

Current Version: 25-3-2025 (Beta)

Changes from previous version:
- Most unit stats have been changed to make them more realistic.
- A few more other changes such as with the tech tree.

Requires Darkest Hour 1.05.2.

Version 25-3-2025 -> Download

To install, unzip the file, then open it. You will find a folder titled "Domination of the Draka". This may be a folder within the folder, so check. Move it to the Darkest Hour\Mods folder. Everything is contained in the Mod so there is no need to install it over a new copy of Darkest Hour Full.

For those who don't already know, The Domination of the Draka is an alternate history book series from the 1980s. There's a brief explanation given from this old thread:

Map of the World in 1936. The Draka (Black) control all of Africa and some of Asia. The USA (Blue) controls all of North America, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Philippines. Columbia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru have merged to form Grand Columbia. Brazil controls Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Guyana. Australia has merged with New Zealand to form Australasia. Japan controls East China as a puppet. Most of the rest of the world is much the same as in our real-world timeline.

I'm also doing an AAR using this mod. I'm playing as Germany. I'm going to try to defeat the Draka when they invade after I defeat the Soviet Union. Should be a challenge.

In addition, some people have requested I allow people to download the airship sprites used in the mod for their own use:

I welcome any opinions. Please tell me if you play this mod, and feel free to report any issues to me.

Made some recent changes such as improving the Dirigible sprite.
Would it be possible to have that available to download somewhere? I think a dirigible is the single most sought-after sprite I've seen on the forum during the years I've been here.

I made a separate thread about this:

Hello, I've downloaded the latest version (05-03-2022). But there are so many files damaged when I unzipping them.

Sorry to hear that. May I ask, did you download the new Ufile version or the old Google Drive version? I moved to Ufile recently as Google Drive downloads seemed slow.

I used this link to download the game.

Try this one. Tell me if you still have problems. The problem seemed to be with Ufile in this case, rather than the compression format. I found it didn't happen with Google Drive.

I think there was also a problem with my original install instructions. To install, unzip the file, then open it. You will find a folder titled "Domination of the Draka". Move it to the Darkest Hour\Mods folder. Everything is contained in the Mod so there is no need to install it over a new copy of Darkest Hour Full.

I've been playing this mod on and off for the past week. So far there have been no game-breaking bugs, thourgh there are two noticeable ones, one reaccuring. The event to honor the anti-Draka pack for Italy keeps firing up multiple times, ususally shortly after loading a save game, desptie most of Europe already being at war with them for near a year.

Second, there apparently are no divisions that an use the AT guns brigade attachment. I found that the hard way after quickly twenty of them in a lull between peace with the USSR and waiting for an opportunity to stab the Draka in the back. Because of that, many of my frontline units had the devil's own time slugging it with Draka, despite liberal application of air-power.

In fact, while many of my veteran units slugged it with the Draka in the Caucasus, that front did't shift more than one or two provincies in either direction, until my forces in the Balcans, and across what used to be the Turkish border achieved a breakthrough, and managed to eventually take Turkey, and the Middle East, letting the bulk of Draka's forces to supply throug the British Raj. After that it was a game of waiting attrition in Russia to do it's job until the Serfs Rebelled and the Draka finally collapsed.

What I'm going with this, is that if it wasn't for the strategic success on the Balcans, Turkey, and the Middle East, I might have easily lost the war because even successful attack or defense against the main Draka army had my veteran units attried to hell and back. In that regard, the AT attachments being either integrated back as a part of the artillery, or you know, if I could attach them to my frontline units against Draka armor, might have helped tremendously. As it was, if it wasn't for concentrated airpower disrupting Draka organizations, they would have simply annihilated my frontline through physical attrition. I had about forty or so division in near constant contact trying to hold couple of provinces that didn't recover beyond fifty percent nominal strenght until the Draka collapsed.

On the other hand, there were some great touches fighting the Draka - their attrition strategies did work. Further, the fact that some of their units fought to the end, instead of retreating does capture the mindset of theirs I recall from the books.

While I haven't played a game with the Draka, the Serf Revolt is a nice touch as well. The Draka really should have two manpower counters and if they lose too much of their citizen soldiers, no matter what else happens, they're going to be fucked, which is what I believe happened. It does help that I did have a lot of forces aimed at their soft underbelly, and virtually all forces that tried to hold the Bulgaria and Turkey god destroyed before I could rush Motorized infantry to cut off the main Draka Army in Russia.

The rest is history - as of last night, the Draka in the East were almost completely annihilated, with only a handful of division left, which are out of supplies and being ground down by a few of mine and the Japanese.

As far as further criticism goes, compared to the mainstray mods I play like Kaiserraich, Edge of Darkness and, Blood and Steel, which I'll be trying next, this one has practically no events to spice and flesh things up, making it much more boring to play in comparison from that POV.

Sorry about the problems. I removed the Anti-Draka pact events in the most recent release. It's a complex series of events that I will need time to test. I also corrected the AT guns problem in the most recent release.

I'm not sure how I could have two manpower pools for the Draka, but I'll see what I can do.

Regarding special events, I don't like to introduce too many as they tend to complicate the game unnecessarily and create more scope for errors. I prefer to prioritise gameplay. There are a few extra events, such the Resource Options and Genetics Research events. If you can suggest any events you think should be included, I'd welcome your recommendations.

Anyway, thanks for telling me about your experience with the Mod. I welcome your feedback.

And congrats on defeating the Draka. Did you take Archona. If so, how long did it take?
