Installation of CORE seem to be rather staraightforward, but I encountered a problem here...

I downloaded 0.32 version and installed it on Armageddon (1.1). But after I press Start game button the game hangs itself on Initialising provinces step, and nothing happens for long time.

What can be wrong with my installation?
 
It can take a fair while the first time you run it to set up the game, it seems. It may be that the game is generating a new navaldist.tbl file (found in the map folder) which can take quite a long time - the good news is that it only does this once, when the game runs the first time.

So try letting the game run for quite a while (maybe even 1/2 hr if your machine is low spec), and see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks, everything worked - I should`ve had more patience... for I thought that something went wrong when the game didn`t load.

I do recall that Armageddon requires a clean install in order to prevent load errors. And when installing the 0.3.2 version you have to select whether you install a DD or an ARM version of CORE. So you're best off by starting with a clean install.

Well there is an issue with the 0.3.2 uninstaller and ARM uninstaller getting mixed up... If you're completely removing the install then it shouldn't pose any problems, but if not...
Obviously this is fixed for 0.4.0.
 
Sorry if this is not the best place for this question but I installed ARM 1.2 is that going to cause issues with this mod?
 
Hi. I registered to this forums just to share my experience with CORE add on. It is more in depth yes. By in depth I mean very boring and confusing technology trees that are boring and stupid. Firs thing: what's up with the avatars for given technolgies? I'm doing tank upgrades and it is showing me an avatar of an AT gun... Second I'm doing an upgrade in 1945 as USSR to light tank and its telling me new model is T-80. If you think T-80 was developed in 40's as a light tank you should not only be kept from making strategy war games but from playing them as well. Third: calling USSR Russia.. just a silly/ignorant mistake for someone who plays HOI. And a ton of other things that if I start mentioning my keyboard will evaporate before I finish.

My advice: focus on less broad things and build your from there, CORE is just another boring mod right now not worth playing, unless you love to waste your life.

To the remark about the T-80, I hereby provide photographic proof that there was a light tank developed by the Soviet Union during WWII called the T-80. You should perhaps do some research before posting such comments.

P.S. I apologize for not being able to put the image in my post as I have not figured out how to do it yet.

In case anyone is wondering, I have personally spent nearly half my life (I'm 23) learning military history and its technology and equipment. Nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read that comment.

As a forum Moderator I am going to ask you to please tone future posts down and be nice. You may not agree with what they are doing and you are free to express that opinion but adding comments that are designed to start a forum war is not accepted here. If you are not happy with the mod then please do not come to their forum and post.

This is not a warning but advice next time I will forward the post to the moderator of the specific sub-forum for further review.

No of course not. I was simply saying to research the subject you're going to discuss before you actually say something about it. I was merely pointing out that I have done research in that field for some time and so felt qualified to show that you were incorrect, if I wasn't, I wouldn't have told you that you were wrong, neither would I have said you were right. If you're not knowledgeable enough in the field, never tell them they're wrong when you don't really know whether they are or not. You have done that with the people that have worked on this mod.

I honestly think that one mistake about 120 machines produced does not disqualify me from posting my opinion. All YOU did was type "T-80 light tank" in google to get the image. No need to tell us how smart you are and all that.

Yes I didn't look it up, but notice the time of my post, it was pretty early and I had to get some sleep.
And speaking of your qualification, I highly doubt, my friend, that you could come out a winner of a WWII trivia against me.
