The nationalization of women does not sound far-fetched if the leadership has a high number of bachelors and inheritance is not a factor. Thank you for the update.

Nah, I see it as fearmongering myself. The nationalization of women does not sound far-fetched if the leadership has a high number of bachelors and inheritance is not a factor. Thank you for the update.
It was clearly started by someone afraid of the rebels, probably in alliance between the press and powerful people with much to lose! It's nice to know that someone in Elysium is still pragmatic.
Who started these "Nationalization of Women" rumors?
Communist Elysium is larger than I expected. How did they seize control over so much of the country?
Hah!'Nationalization of Women'? Apparently it's good to be communist.
As long as it all benefits Elysium.Nothing like good old fashioned fearmongering to distract from the true dangers posed by the rebels.
I like him too. He's as decent as an aristocrat in the eve of revolution can be.I like Marcian. Hopefully, he can act as a voice of reason. But I don't think the young king will listen...
You know, if only the king could use his rage for the benefit of the country...Somehow, I'm not expecting reason when the king reaches majority.
"So, Lord Epiphianos, it says here that your stepsister's second cousin twice removed by marriage once said, 'Maybe there are worse things than communists.' Is that true?"
"I have no idea, your majesty!"
"A liar and a communist! Have him and his entire family tarred, feathered, drawn, and quartered!"
Brewed the Turkish way, I hope. Oh, right, Greek offshoot. Brewed the Greek way, I hope.He nodded to himself and took another cup of coffee.
It's a little known fact that Marcian is in fact part giraffe. That is why there is such a large distance between his head and his shoulders, though credit to his tailor his elaborate collar hides it well.Regent Marcian Doukas,
Not as sweeping as the rebels had wanted, of course. But the news had been received by the workers of the land with jubilation.
So he was told. The rebels, of course, condemned it as too little, too late. As they would.
Elysium would be all right.
Sure sureBrewed the Turkish way, I hope. Oh, right, Greek offshoot. Brewed the Greek way, I hope.![]()
No, you can't. Those Commie bastards need to be taken down a peg!Well, can’t go wrong with beating back the commies, I suppose.
1) We will, in due time.Hmmm... this hints at a lot but would love to see more in the next chapter:
1) Will we see more or hear more from the young king? Would love to see what he tells his primary regent.
2) Will we see how the rebellion war is progressing?
3) What other tricks does the regent have up his sleeve?
4) Do the Communists have a chance to break off a piece of the country to form their own socialist republic permanently?
Lovely art, by the way, to open the chapter.
Oh, you...It's a little known fact that Marcian is in fact part giraffe. That is why there is such a large distance between his head and his shoulders, though credit to his tailor his elaborate collar hides it well.
I do worry about the quality of rebel education, I don't think those Nihilist revolutionaries actually know what Nihilism is. It is certainly a lucky break for the Regent, stupid enemies are normally easier to defeat.
The horror! When are the commies auctioning off women to raise funds? Fearmongering needs to be reinforced. The grieving boy is biding his time. The regent needs to be ready to flee when the boy becomes a man. Thank you for the update.
No, we're in the middle of it!So the civil war has been averted...at least for now?
Where will the young king refocus his rage?
The regent is a wise man. Hopefully the king will aknowledge that.Well, that's one way to prevent more rebellion. The regent seems more reasonable than the king.
None of these concessions involved compromising on closing the borders, right?
Nah, never is.Sounds like any opposition party, or union. Never good enough.
As long as it works, I think it will.Marcian navigated that rather adroitly, but how will the boy King react? Will it be good enough?
Happy Roald Dahl noises.Fantastic.
