Hello,
since I have installed the new (1.05) update, I have lost the dynasty shields - in my savegames and in new games.

I started a new installation (GG)- the same problem:
Checksum is correct,
see the (Preorder)DLCs in the launcher,
go to ingame store, which tells my that I have the dlcs,
an re-installation of the DLCs is not possible.

Help please.

You have to delete the crusader kings II folder in documents/paradox interactive and then restart the game. Your saved games are in here so back them up first. Shields should all come back.

Yes. Some shields have return e.g. Hohenstaufen, Anjou, Capet.

Others are wrong e.g. Karling, Ibelin, Salian, Lusignan, de Rethel, Boulogne and this is unbearable for a KoJ-Player like me!

Is this a bug - Paradox and friends? Help please.

@Paradox: Thanks for fixing Bohemond of Taranto!

Try a full clean reinstall.

If this is Steam: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.

If GamersGate: Move valued save games elsewhere, and uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 directories from where GG put them and from MyDocuments. Reinstall the game , download 1.05b patch again and apply it.

I found out this messes it up for me more.
As long as I used my old Preferences folder the shields were rightly assigned but slightly cut off for the CoA DLC.
When I do a clean reinstall (after backup) it messes up everything as described in the first post.

There are definitely issues here so please don't write this one off as being about bad installs. I uninstalled, manually removed all relevant files and re-installed the game specifically for the hotfix and I am getting stuff like Navarra having Hereford's shield.

Here I go again.

I have the same problem with the new update: Checksumme is correct, I have some correct shields but a lot of shields are wrong.
I see it in the Kingdom of Jerusalem there are nearly all wrong or e.g. the Salians have never a dark red shield with 3 Lions.

If I delete the document/.../ck2-folder (with the save and so on) and restart the game: All shields are wrong.

My game which I update was a full new installation from GG from yesterday (the 1.05b-Version).

Maybe I do again a new Installation on weekend but I bought the game for playing not for installing.

Why can I not reinstall the coat of arms DLC - is this not the easy way for solve this scaring problem?

Another one with the same problem. All shields are black.

Is it possible to reinstall the DLC?
That's not the same problem at all. Try solution #7 in the "known issues" sticky thread above.

I'd like to know if those who experience this problem all bought the game from Gamer's Gate. If you did, be aware that the first version we released of the Dynasty CoA DLC was UPDATED at one point (very soon after the original release I believe). You need the new version of the DLC itself.

I bought from Gamersgate but I reinstalled the game completely ( and DLCs ) after the latest patch, so that shouldn't be problem for me.

Maybe a start a full re-installation again after work.

But the effect If I delete the document/.../ck2-folder (with the save and so on) and restart the game: All shields are wrong.
is a little risk.

So I done it again. Before installing I delete everything what is from gamersgate in the download folder.

Maybe I confused but the result is that the shield of the Salian looks like the Plantagenet one in dark red - and this is wrong, or?

I am wondering that after the new installation knows the "launcher" that I have the 2 preoder DLCs, I cannot install them. In the gamestore it is shown too that I have it.
And the checksumme is correct.

What else can I do?

Hmm.
Where do I get the "new version"? I never found a possibility for installing the DLC - it comes "automatically".
Fact is with 1.04 I have no problem with the Dynasty CoA.

Now some are missing like Ibelin, Montferrato, Lusignan and Salian. They have the same CoA if I started a game with de-activated DLCs!

Maybe GG could help me?

The Ibelin, Lusignan, Montferrato and Salian dynasties always had and still have random CoA. They never had their historical CoA's since they aren't in the CoA DLC.

The random CoA's have changed with patch 1.05.

You can check which dynasty has a historical CoA and which one not in Crusader Kings II/common/dynasties.txt, f.e. search for Salian then you see this entry

Code:
651 = {
	name="Salian"
	culture = german
}

While just above that you see the house of Welf (which does have a historical CoA) it's entry looks like this

Code:
650 = {
	name="Welf"
	culture = german
	coat_of_arms = {
		template = 0
		layer = {
			texture = 3
			texture_internal = 44
			emblem = 0
			color = 0
			color = 0
			color = 0
		}
	}
}

My western shields are fixed now (I think a previous problem was due to something I'd changed in my mod) but it's still random as to whether I get the historical Golden Horde and Ilkhanate shields. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
