I have read praxiteles' notes on education, and largely understand them all. However, I have a couple of clarifying questions:
1) I am assuming that success of any educational path is based on the subject's base, unadjusted traits. Or, are there any traits that do count, such as "prodigy", etc.)? (In other words, my understanding is that if odds of success on the Martial path are largely determined by Martial and health traits, then the +2 Martial and +1 Health benefits for being on the military path don't go into this success calculation.)
2) Given that we have to select a school path when a child is 5, and trait improvement (excepting Health and Fertility) is based on random selection, then our choice of path is based on only partial knowledge of the child's skills, correct? (In other words, a child could show exceptional martial ability up until age 5, and then - after selecting military school - the random nature of the trait selection process could lead to a child ultimately strong in another trait and make the child a relatively weak martial candidate, correct?) Side question 1: At what age does development / trait improvement stop? Side question 2: At what age does the HTTM clock start ticking on determining educational results?
