Crook - Has there been any decision or are there any guidelines for using the user-defined nation tags in the EEP? BarristerBoy has created Canada using u04 (I believe). Naturally I think this should be included! ;) Any thoughts?

Fatal errors in EEP 1.0

The following is a list of changes I needed to make to get the EEP to boot. I'm running EU2 v1.04, with EEP Historical+Fantasy, so YMMV.
  • Event 20014 is used in both EEP/Events/eep_afg.txt and EEP/Events/eep_random.txt, producing a database mismatch. Change the line
    id = 200014
    in either to (for example)
    id = 2200014
  • Also in event 20014 in EEP/Events/eep_afg.txt, change
    command = { type = caucusbelli which = KSH value = 12 }
    to
    command = { type = casusbelli which = KSH value = 12 }
    in action_a.
  • In event 200032 in EEP/Events/eep_random.txt, add a } to the end of the line
    trigger = { NOT = { domestic = { type = centralization value = 4 }
    and remove the second quote from the end of the desc:
    desc = "Being a mere...make concessions.""
  • Events 22003 and 22004 in EEP/Events/eep_sac.txt are both missing the initial line
    event = {
  • Event 22004 in EEP/Events/eep_sac.txt is also missing the ending quote from the line
    desc = "The alchemist...
  • In event 1069 in EEP/Events/randomevents.txt, remove the space between the - and 20 in the last command of action_b:
    command = { type = treasury value = - 20 }

Resurrection of the Knights

The three events 3156, 24000, and 24002 in EEP/Events/eep_spa.txt to resurrect the Knights for Spain, Aragon, and Castile respectively all trigger the Knights' corresponding event to change their country culture, fiddle with relations, possibly break their vassalship to Spain, etc. before they grant the Knights independence, so the event never happens. They can each be resolved by swapping the appropriate lines, i.e.
command = { type = trigger which = 3540 }
command = { type = independence which = KNI }

to
command = { type = independence which = KNI }
command = { type = trigger which = 3540 }

for 3156, and similarly for the other two.

When I played with Gujarat, I noted that they don't know Mecca's location. This is weird because they are Muslims and should know it.

I think some other Indian, Indonesian and African countries can have the same problem.

The whole timurid thing is still kind of a mess. I think it works better if you don't have the first revolt event. If baluchistan, qara koyunlu, or the uzbeks take persia, it just doesn't form period. Delhi and Chagatai tend to creep in, too, neither of which should really be anywhere near the area. I'd do a few things:

1. kill the first timurid revolt event. Replace it with revolt risks in the uzbek provinces only. 70 years of revolts just throws too much chaos into the area with all the defections.

2. Delhi needs an event to become the moghuls if the timurids are totally wiped out and needs to have it's event altered to give the moguls a straight shot into delhi if delhi gets too much territory in afghanistan. I have an event for this posted in my timurids thread.

3. Qara Koyunlu is too powerful. I set up an event for them to get inherited by AKK, but this is a little bit too deterministic. Maybe the caliphate should be revived as Qara Koyunlu Baghdad. Something would have to be done to keep the various other countries around it from gobbling it up, though (perhaps starting as a vassal and ally of QKK?).

4. From what history I've read, Baluchistan didn't really show up that much earlier than the persians. It should probably have its revolt time moved to about 1460 or so, and the monarch list is a little off also. Persia worked well in the normal campaign with a revolt date of 1480, so maybe it should be pushed up just a hair also.

5. Giving copies of AKK's ressurection of Persia events to all the relevant countries wouldn't hurt, but they really don't work well due to no one ever getting below 1 stab in that region. They should all definately have the secede or fight event, though, (Uzbeks, Timurids, and AKK are the only ones that have it now, IIRC. QAR should get it, at least.)

Technical problems

I have received a few complaints about corrupted saved games for people using the EEP.

I forwarded one of them to Johan asking for input and he said one of the cause for the crashes is that you are using Leader IDs above 20 000 wich is a certain cause for crash.

As for the rest, I'll leave it up to you :)

Fashion Industry Help

After installing EEP 1.00b on a fresh install of EU2 1.04, my rebel scum now wear early Ottoman kit (with the giant pointy stick and a fetching hat), rather than the less fashionable late midieval Euro kit.

Is this a deliberate sprite swap? Doesn't seem to otherwise affect the game (though I seem to be losing to rebel scum more often in the mountains).

Tks,

Is it odd to reinstall the whole game after every GC to clear out the silly things I've done without backing up?

I know that in my submission I had a few leaders with ID tags above 20 000. I'll make sure to change that for my next submission.

Wasn't leader IDs allowed to 32000?:confused:

I thought so, and have said so. Obviously I was wrong...

unless Johan made a typo in his reply. Maybe you should inquire to be sure?

Minor start up bug. Using the EEP Byz option (not sure if it makes a difference), Ryazan starts the game as a vassal of Muscowy. AND a vassal of the Golden Horde. I believe the readme mentions being a vassal of Muscowy, I suspect the Horde vassalization should go. I'll let you know how it plays out.

England/France Dutch Revolt Events in EEP 1.0b

Although I haven't checked it, it looks like the dutch revolt events in eepmajor_fra.txt and eepmajor_eng.txt have the same flaw that EU2 1.01 had where the owned province trigger is scripted thusly:

Code:
From eepmajor_fra.txt

#Dutch Nobility demands General Estates#
event = {

	id = 3325
	trigger = {
		NOT = {
			religion = protestant
			religion = reformed
		}
		OR = {
			owned = { province = 337 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 338 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 339 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 340 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 377 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 378 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 379 data = 1 }
			owned = { province = 380 data = 1 }
			}

...

It should be "data = -1," right? Otherwise the event won't fire. The Spanish eepmajor event looks fine, and I think it's the only other one (Other relevant countries use regular event file (Burgundy & Austria)).

Another minor error. In the Novgorod event file, the 'Trade Agreement' event with the Teutonic order. There are two 'action_a's, which means the game only gives you the second one (which frankly, sucks!)
