My sugestion is to produce alternate eep_scenarios that allow to "install" it without change the original files. Most of changes eep packcage introduces do not need changes, since you can alter the scenario file to read files with others names (for sample, instead of change the monarchs file, use one with other name; instead of use the alternate ai files, use another in the country file. I do this with good results, all files in eep must be defined in inc files, so there are no need to upgrades, just to be another option.

Should Spain get Catalan culture at beginning, through event, or never?

Spain should get it when inherites Aragon, only problems in first days of Spain wasn't so cultural, really was a problem with Carlos' ministers culture(flemish)

Extra columns for the event chart

In the event chart I would like to be able to see in which issue each event was added and who the author was, so that I could keep track of my events.

since noone is giving any ideas for new cultures, there is enough exrtra cultures to fill the British Isles. I feel they should all be there because Ireland shouldn't be able to rule scotland productively, and vice versa so a second gaelic culture is not enough.
As for converting, as far as I know it depends on the provinces current religion and wether the nation has the provinces culture how hard it is to convert so these changes should not make it any harder or easier.

I think we also need to look at making new copies of all of the 1492.inc, 1617.inc, etc. files, so that the event history in each also reflects those EEP events that happened in history up to that point. With that done, the EEP would work in every scenario, not just 1419, as it currently is.

Fall of Constantinople-Event happens 1454. I'm not at war with the Ottomans (because I smashed them:D ), but this event still happens, and also in wrong year.

Help!?!

I loaded the EEP 0.2, but cannot run it as I am being told that the pc can't read what appears to be a non-existent major_ann text file. Assuming I deleted this my mistake, what can I do?

(Sorry if this belongs in a different thread)

I suppose it's not a good idea to overwrite the eep_01 files with eep_02 files if you already are playing a savegame (in my case, with the Ottomans) , right?

The Fall of Constantinople event is supposed to allow the Turks to take Constantinople more easily, without first taking Morea in a previous war. The dates should be like 1430-1460 (but ended up being 1453-1460 - whoops), since what are the odds of a Turkish assault in 1453 precisely?

However, the triggers are that you be at war with the Turks (as the Byzantines), you own Morea, and they control Thrace. It sounds like none of those were the case. Were the Turks totally gone? I've never had it act weird like that for me.

I think that changing some of the unused cultures is a wonderful idea. The British Isles really does need Irish, Lowland-Scottish, Highland-Scottish, & Welsh added to accurately simulate the historical realties & progress in the British Isles. I think we need to make some sort of master list of edited cultures, so that everyone is working off of the same list, & not duplicating various cultures. Perhaps Crook could post them in a separate closed thread, once the list is finalized.
So many cultures would be overdoing the detail. I don't think there was any difference between the Irish and the Highlanders that isn't already simulated by them being on different islands.

I would push for one small change, a new celtic culture. Brittany and Wales would get this for obvious reasons, and it would also do for the lowlands.

The ulster plantation event may as well make Ulster anglosaxon straight away.
Well lowland scottland could be there, but it should change over to english as they were more like them.

As for keeping scottland/ireland same, that's fine, if they never conquer one another, which seems to happen on ocassion before its absorbed by england.

Big Ugly Bug in v 0.2

Well some files in my archive are missing and I hardly started the scenario, having to sacrifice a lot of things. Here are some of them: 1419_nor, event files for ann and ayu and others ... , extragc.txt and that's all, I think.

I received numerous error in the Turkish ai and events that I had to fix myself. The AI was no problem but the event file was partially fixed. In the independence of Tripoli and Tunisia event I get an error about an invalid command ( independence ) and there is another error in event3379 ( invalid command = technology and something about muslim and a war command in the persian conflicts, I can't remember ).

The event file in the DB folder is trying to open some files like major_ann and major_ayu that do not exist in my archive. I also receive an error in which extragc.txt cannot be opened ( because it does not exist ).

That's all I think. Oh and I was able to run the 1419 scenario because I replaced the EEP events file in DB with my original one and I removed some lines in EEP_GC and because I used the original 1419_dan file ( 1419_nor was missing ).

I hope you fix this soon.

I think the problem with the fall of constantinople event is that it has country = TUR instead of data = TUR. From experience trying to code similar events for the uzbeks, this will make the event either always occur or never occur, depending on the other triggers.

Alexthegreat sounds like he's trying to use the EEP with an unpatched EU2 or an earlier patch.

Since the Mameluks are Sunni in this version, have you considered making them another culure to offset the economic penalty lost? Turkish is a good option, I think, since the Mameluks were Turkish slaves who usurped the power of the Egyptian government from their masters. Anyway, an Arabic, sunni Mameluks seems to be just a hair too powerful.

I've already tried that but the patch doesn't work for me , for Chema_Cagi and others. We get the invalid text.csv message. I already have a post in the Bug Reporting Forum about this but still no solution. I'll try reinstalling the game but the chances of succes are 10% . But still there are some missing files in the archive like the event files for ann and ayu and the 1419_nor file ( and probably others that I couldn't identify ).

These files were added in 1.02 and 1.03, so unless you upgrade to 1.03, you're gonna get these messages anyway. Reinstall the game, apply patch 1.03, and then install EEP. It works.

That should be fixed with civil wars that plagued the Mamelukes for long periods in mid-1400s. Different state culture might be an option too.
