As Cow Pie say to get attention it is nice with an update, but still this is a great AAR. So I think you should carry on as you are at the moent, and hope that you will get the CD and the game back running soon;)

Uh, I have gotten it back. I got it back last month:D .

In regards to updates, I've got a monster update on the way. Expect it tonight or tomorrow.

The New Era: the Flames of War
The first nation to show desire to usher in the new era is Portugal. They declare war on December 4th. They are not a concern. They were smashed by their war with Spain, and do not have sufficient forces to launch an effective invasion of our provinces. We don't have a big enough navy to launch an invasion, either, but we have more important fish to fry.

The filthy traitorous dogs in Crimea, to be exact. In preparation for a war with them, the Army of the Nobles will be brought down from Kazan. In addition, my Army will get as close to the border to Morocco as possible (Morocco and Crimea are allies now).

But, before our plan can be carried out, on December 13th, the event that has been dreaded for over 30 years occurs: Poland declares war. Fortunately, all our loyal allies declare in support of us. This requires a change of plans, however. The Army of the nobles is rerouted to Bogutjar, and peacekeeping forces in Kurdistan will have to be transported to Poland as well. Conscripts are called up all across the Horde lands and Kazan. We will need all the help we can get....

This month is proving to be one filled with war and strife. On the 23rd, Scotland, Turkey, Finland/Novgorod, Sweden, and Vinland declare war on England. Then, on the 30th, that same alliance declares war upon Sibir. Again, our allies rally to our banner. We call up the Khan's army from India to strike at Turkey, and my Army is ordered to invade the Turkish possessions in the Holy Land.

1527
On New Year's Day, Thuringen and Hessen convert to Luther's new faith. This does not concern us, for on the 5th, Ryazan declares war upon us. We decline the help of our allies. Ryazan should be a pushover. The recruits intended to aid Dmitriy are diverted to the tiny nation.

Judea is besieged by a small force of former Adeni cavalry on January 20th. Bogutjar falls to General Arkadeyevich's assault on the 24th, but the Russians are beaten at Tula.

In February, Mysore and Hyderabad declare war on us. It is a good thing the Khan stalled leaving Delhi, so he can strike at the upstart Indian states. But while the Hyderabadi army is very powerful (the Mysori army is next to gone, it was beat soundly by the Mughals in a previous war), we can use the Mughal territory's massive conscription abilities to even the odds.

On the 13th, Lord Dmitriy besieges the city of Voronezh in Poland. The next day, recruit forces arrive in Ryazan, and 6 days afterward, Voronezh falls to assault. The next day, Kerch is invaded by a cavalry regiment from Kurgan.

On March 29th, the entire army of Hyderabad engages the Khan's army in Aurangabad. It's do-or-die time, and we do. Despite suffering heavy casualties, our army inflicts twice as many and sends the Hyderabadis back to their own lands, with us in hot pursuit.

In late April, Poland offers up Vorones for peace. We refuse, then counteroffer giving up Bogutjar. It is refused as well, so the Army of the Nobles invades Belgorod, arriving on the 1st of May. We hope we can capture the province before Tula falls to the Poles, so Russia can refocus her attention to the northern border, where Finnish/Novgorodi forces are besieging Ingermanland.

Belgorod falls in 1 day, thanks mostly to the large artillery corps with Dmitriy (inherited from Persia :) ). An assault is launched of Ryazan, and on the 4th, our forces arrive in Nagpur and Turkish forces invade Georgia. On May 28th, the Khan's army finally ousts Mysori and Hyderabadi defenders of Nagpur, and then the Poles offer us both Vorones and Bogutjar. This is an offer we cannot refuse.

A week later, on the 5th of June, Judea falls to assault. My forces then move on to unfortified Lebanon. On July first, the defenseless province comes under Siberian control, and I push on to Adana.

On July 8th, the Army of the Nobles engages the only Ryazani army in Lipetsk. On the 14th, it is victorious, and the next day the fortress surrenders.

Nagpur falls on the 21st. On the 24th, my forces defeat Turkish invaders in Aleppo and continue the journey to Adana.

With October 25th comes the fall of Ryazan and the annexation of the nation of the same name. On November 3rd, Adana surrenders to us as well.

1528
On New Year's Day, another wave of Protestantism hits. The Palatinate and Sweden join the ranks of religious rebels. We laugh at the division in Christian Europe. Islam is united, strong. Ever since Persia's annexation, Shiites have been eliminated from our faith.

On March 4th, Konya falls to my men. Later in the month, the Sochi Fleet obliterates a Rhodesian warship in the Eastern Black Sea. In May, the filthy Turks retook Lebanon! My army, previously recuperating in Konya, sets off to reclaim it for Sibir.

On June 23rd, Moldovia effectively commits suicide. They declare war upon Poland, and thus on Spain and her entente. Two days later, we again defeat the Knights at sea. On the 30th, Finland/Novgorod and Sweden capture Karelia from the Russians. It is now a race against time. Can we capture Kerch and Lebanon in time to make peace with Turkey and her allies, or will Russia be brought to her knees by the Finns and Swedes? And what of the Khan? When will India finally come under his iron boot?

Tune in next week, same Steppe-time, same Steppe-network!

The Wars Rage On

On the 2nd of August, Trabzon falls to the Hafsid Empire, Algier, and the Uzbeks. On the 11th, Kerch falls too. We demand the Turks hand over Lebanon, Judea, and Trabzon. They refuse.

Then, General Arkadeyevich can't take it anymore. He decides to intervene. Casting aside his artillery, he takes his infantry en route to Far Karelia and Kola, which had been captured by the Finns. If we can liberate these provinces, Turkey might be more willing to cooperate.

On October 9th, the Khan takes the Hyderabadi capitol by storm. Because recruit forces are well on their way to capturing Madya Pradesh, the army turns to the siege of Deccan, also being carried on by struggling recruits.

On the 15th, Madya Pradesh falls. Instead of turning to Deccan, they go on to Bangalore as Hyderabad is annexed. On November 3rd, the Knights are again defeated in the Black Sea. 11 days later, the Khan arrives in Deccan and sets the siege on its way to completion.

On the 20th, my men invade Sivas. We must put as much pressure on the Turks as possible so they will give in to our demands.

1529
Hannover and Helvetia join the ranks of Protestants on New Year's day. We stand by our condescending laugh.

On the 16th, Greece and Denmark declare war on Venice, Hungary, Serbia, and the Hanseatic league. 4 days later, Ingermanland is liberated by Hafsid, Siberian, and of course, Russian, troops. When 1000 cavalry liberate Kola, on February 3rd, Turkey is once again demanded to give up. They once again refuse.

The next day, though, Sivas falls. So does Deccan. A month later, the partitioning of France continues, at least indirectly. Savoy annexes the province of Normandie from England.

On June 14th, Angora falls to my army. The Sultan continues to be a stubborn bastard, rejecting yet another generous offer. Dmitriy now begins a campaign against the Turkish allies, sending cavalry into unfortified Swedish Lappland and beginning a siege of Nyland.

On the 23rd, the Siberian Light Cavalry division conquers Lappland in one fell swoop, and Sibo-Swedish relations are returned to the status quo.

August 1st brings the surrender of Anatolia. Turkey rejects our demands. On September 13, all of Asia Minor has been wrenched from the Sultan's grip with the surrender of Smyrna. If this bothers the Turkish Sultan, he doesn't show it. Once again our offer is rejected, and I march onward: To Constantinople.

On September 30th, Bangalore is captured, drawing the war with India to a close. On December 20th, Nyland is captured from Finland/Novgorod. We decide that we want to keep it. Finns thwarted our Russian allies so much, it is only fair to repay them for it. Turkey rejects our demands.

1530
It is a glorious day for the Empire. Constantinople lays in Siberian hands... or under its boot. When peace is offered, on February 6th, the Sultan -- now hiding in Macedonia -- refuses, even though over half of his empire is controlled by Sibir, the Hafsid Empire, or even Savoy, in the case of Provence.

On June 13th, the military governor of Rumelia gives up with a saber point at his throat. But then on the next day, an event occurs that means all our labors have been for naught. Turkey officially cedes Trabzon to the Hafsid Empire. My thoughts war: should we continue the crusade of Turkish subjugation, or get out while we can, and avoid a costly landing and siege of Sardinia?

By the way, that's just part 2 of the monster update. The original one was too big to be practical in a post, so I split it into 3.

Screenie will be included upon conclusion of Turkish War, and more forthcoming after that. But first, I must go to sleep;) .

EDIT: Btw, Sibir now has 1060 VPs. 2nd Place- Spain, with something like 465 :D :D :D :D .

Great updates;)
Looking forward to the next one and the screenies.

Which is precisely why I'm making you wait! Bwahahahahahaha!!!

P.S. An EUII AAR? Shame! Shame!!

Hi Morpheus,

Good stuff! Keep it coming! I know the pressures of writing one AAR or 2AARs™;)

This AAR was resposible for me starting to play EU (2) again. After a long time!

Keep it coming. I'll be back when you next have time to post!

Guys, be patient! If you have time on your hands play EU or write your own AAR! Its fun!

The withdrawal has begun. Though the Sochi fleet still is sinking Turkish and Rhodesian ships, our land forces pull back. But by the time my Horde gets to Smyrna, we notice something. Rhodes is deserted! This could be our chance!

I accompany 11000 of my bravest men aboard the fleet.

1531
January 3rd sees Prussia convert. We don't care one bit. 10 days later, though, something we do care about occurs. We have given up on getting 3 provinces from this stupid war, and demand Lebanon and Judea, plus money. The Sultan accepts at last.

Sibir At Peace
Screenie13.txt

On March 22nd, the great fortress of Rhodes falls to assault, which should have brought an end to a war spanning 18 years. But Rhodes refuses to even consider it. Somehow, we will find a way....

But we never get a chance. Crimea seems to have it in for us lately. They gain a white peace with Rhodes, causing my men to become exiles from their conquest! This shall not be forgiven....

On June 5th, the Hanseatic League, Venice, and Serbia declare war on Modena, Spain, Naples, and Poland. On September 23rd, Moldovia, feeling bold, declares war on Turkey, Scotland, Vinland, Sweden, Finland/Novgorod, and Saxony. Even why they are bold is a mystery to us, they got hammered by Poland in their last war. Go figure.

On October 10th, the first step in punishing Crimea is begun. Our merchants and ships institute a trade embargo on the traitors. This could be a great loss of income for them, as Sibir is currently in possession of 5 rich trade centers around the world: Alexandria, Astrakhan, Delhi, Isfahan, and Mascate.

We also punish Morocco for being allied to Crimea. An embargo is begun against them as well. If one of them declares war, the other shall soon follow.

1533
1532 is a clean slate, marred only by battles in Finland, France, and off the coast of Portugal and land struggles on the Anglo-Scottish border. In January 1533, though, the silence becomes too much: for Sahib Giray... On the 2nd, Crimea declares war on Sibir, both sides being supported by all their allies. The Sochi Fleet , wintering in the Nile Delta, is ordered to go to Lebanon to pick up a corps of rebel-bashers to be taken to Morocco. The quicker they can be taken out of this fight, the better.

On February 4th, the seemingly endless war between England and Spain draws to a close. The Baleares island chain is surrenderred to the English, signifying the second time in 40 years that Spain has lost a war.

On the 19th, proof positive that we weakened Poland greatly: Serbia! of all nations, beats them soundly. Galicia becomes the 5th province in the Serbian kingdom.

The next day, Azow falls to my elite troops. Another detachment is hammering away at the walls of Stavropol, and now my army sets its sights on the capitol. The spirit of the Crimean people is broken, it seems, though, for the capitol raises a white flag on March 15th. I now sweep towards Lugansk.

On the 1st of April, Aguis the Conqueror's brainchild, the arquebus, is modified again. It now is made to be small, easily fired from horseback and fits well in one hand. All the officers in the Siberian military are issued these new weapons, albeit too late to save the assault in Kouban. To offset this defeat, another 1-day siege is conducted, astonishing even myself how quickly the fortress capitulated. It is perhaps a good thing that the Knights or any other of the nations we warred together never landed troops on the Crimean mainland; they would have overrun our ally in a matter of weeks!

On June 28th, my marvelous elite capture Kalmuk. The last holdout of Crimean freedom is in Kouban. The pistols once again fail to turn the tide of a July assault, but after my arrival in early August, the ramparts are swarmed and overtaken. Crimea joins the glorious Siberian Empire on August 9th, 1533.

1534
On the 1st of May, 1534, the Admiral Staff perfects a way for mass producing galleons for our navy. Much of the Khanal Navy [OOC: don't know if that works, but hey] is retrofitted, but the grand ol' Lead Weight has gotten too old to continue service. She is retired, and put on display in Sochi. A gift shop is set up as well.

1535
On January 16th, Morocco is captured by Allied forces, raising the Russian --why?-- flag over Fez. Our men, however, were not part of the siege. Having taken great casualties during the *first* assault on the fort, we withdrew to Tangiers to try to convince Portugal to back off and maybe win ourselves some of their tps in India.

The next day, Russia drops out of the conflict. Demanding a huge cash payment, Russia relinquishes control of Morocco. On May 15th, Morocco surrenders again. The Uzbek flag is raised then lowered, as 83d is transfered to the Uzbek treasury. Algiers and the Hafsid Empire both acquire white peaces, and we decide that we want Morocco to join the alliance, not be annexed, so we return to status quo too.

On May 24th, a nobleman of the Khan's court is involved in an argument with an Orthodox clergyman. The disgruntled priest began preaching against us! [random event-unhappiness among clergy] This shall have to be stopped.

1536
On New Year's Day, England and Denmark become the 2nd and 3rd powerful nations to convert to the new Christian faith. If a war between the Pope and Martin Luther ensues, this could be a hard-won fight for either side. We will have to take advantage of this when it comes...

On the 17th, the war appears to have begun. Poland, supported by Spain, declares war on England, Prussia, and Portugal (although I tend to disregard Portugal as any part of this war, not being Protestant against Catholics and only consisting of 2 cities, one of which is under siege by "barbarian horsemen from Russia;" can you believe they called us that, ooh that makes me peeved and -- oh, I've digressed again. I must see that Dr. Masrur gives me something to help that...)

On December 17th, France finally regains some honor by reacquiring Provence from the Turk.

1537
Then on January 17th again, the umpteenth assault on Tangiers hits home. The city falls. The Fleet solidifies its retirement in Tunisia, and the Army settles in in Tangiers. We want to see if we get a chance to seize some more Portuguese land: land acquired from Spain, that is.

Cool update. I like those screenshots;):D

Hey, Morpheus, I have seen you post in the EU2 forums...:)

No you haven't.

Well, I was going to finish up that monster update tonight but the pictures are acting funny and I'm too tired to figure out why. I'll put it up tomorrow (today?) -- er, Friday, or later on in the weekend.
