EU 1 vs EU 2

You who have played both of them, wich is most "fun" and what are the differences btwn them?
 
They are both fun....I would say that an amount of "fun" you have in EU is equal to the amount of fun you have with EU2 but if you ask me what game is more advanced, more completed....then my answer is EU2.
 
I've played them both and while EU2 is keeping me pretty busy right now it's mostly because I'm doing a test with it. If given the choice I would play EU1 in a heart beat, as I've been doing for the past few years. I got both games when they first game out, booted up EU2 and promptly set it away in the shelf of death (That was because it kept crashing, freezing, etc, etc). A few months ago I got it off and I like, it but EU1 is the better game, alot more simple for my young unenlightened mind.
 
I haven't played EUII, but.... only complete annexation of pagan nations? In my book that makes EUI far superior than EUII shall ever be. :D

If you want a faster game or easier world conquest you go for EU 1. If you want to fool around with events you go for EU 2. :)

...and yes C.P. evil can often disguise itself in nice packages :rolleyes: ;) :D We are lucky to have shining knights, always prepared to defend godness, the truth and the original. When one of them falls, another steppes up to take the fallen mantle :rolleyes:
 
K, so EU2 isn´t so much better then?
 
EU 2 is more realistic, I enjoy playing around with it. I dislike games of conquest (you'll rarely find me conquering half the world), but prefer realism (ie. conquer the world and you'll eventually collapse, spcially with rise of nationalism in the 1700s).

So I enjoy EU2 for its balance of power. But I still go for EU1 when making strange scenarios.

Ask the same question in the EU2 forum, I bet you'll get 5 times the replies in this thread saying EU2 is better, and not without a reason. ;)

EU II has:
1) More territory, in the sense of having less terra incognita and some EU I provinces subdivided
2) More time, since it covers 1419-1819 rather than 1492-1792
3) Many more countries, since it adds more countries in Europe and the Middle East, makes countries in south Asia, south-eastern Asia, and east Asia playable (unlike EU I), and adds in more countries in central Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas
4) Culture!
5) More religions and a missionary system
6) Domestic policy sliders (the second-largest change)
7) An event engine and a large number of historical events (the single largest change)
And an enormous number of smaller additions and improvements.

Tell me about it, I've never been so satisfied as when I annexed China in 1799 and finished my World Conquest..in EU2. :p
