Newly colonized provinces start with the overlord's religion regardless of what was there before is my understanding. Does that mean they will also start with Religious Zeal for 10 years?

Asking regarding a One Faith attempt.

...1,200 hours in and that's how little I've played the colonization game.
No religious zeal.

Except when the province is in a Trade Company region, in which case it retains its original religion and culture, unless the population is 0 either naturally or as a result of attacking the natives. You will have to resend the colonist.

Whew - that's a relief.

I have been converting TC provinces prior to adding them, relying a lot on the propagate religion merchant policy which is proving to be quite OP.

If you are muslim and therefore can use the propagate religion trade policy, you shouldn't be converting prior to adding provinces to the trade company -- that's a waste of valuable time (and missionaries, both missionary time and ducats to fund the missionaries). The -200% malus to conversions in TC-held provinces does not apply to propagate religion conversions, so TC provinces will readily convert from the trade policy even after being added to the TC.

Holy crap - I did not know that! I had been converting manually up to the point I had enough control of the node to enact the policy, then adding one by one as they auto-converted. Oops - good to know now.

Is there any way to change the keyboard controls for the game? I'm having a small problem, whenever I change the volume the recruitment tab pops up. Also it would be more comfortable if map scrolling was assigned to WASD.

I'm currently going for From Humble Origins, Ideas Guy and These Banners need a Saga achievements in my native migration abuse run. I was checking the dev-army ratio for banners, but i've found some strange age modifier. Why is it there and are there more of them for later ages other than age ability for Manchu/Qing?

I'm playing as Uesugi (japanese Daimyo) and have discovered the Golden City of Quivira via the Hunt for the Seven Cities. My last colonial game was on 1.12 and back then I did get a permanent country modifyer. The Wiki claims those still exists and Quivira should give me tax income and prestige. Yet I find no modifyer anywhere. I did get the discovery event, the one-time 800 ducats and the province modifier (see screen shot).

Does anybody know why I didn't get the country modifier and whether this is a bug or intended? Thank you kindly for any replies in advance!

They changed that in one of the newer patches. Instead your country gets a perma bonus, the province gets it.
