Ireland's formation decision says the event 'New Traditions' occurs now.

I can't find Ireland's new ideaset on the wiki. Can someone post them if they know? I'm interested if they are any good... or exist at all, because there's a campaign I wanna try for amusement.
I would assume it would be these:
Code:
irish_ideas = {
    start = {
        land_morale = 0.1
        trade_efficiency = 0.1
    }

    bonus = {
        legitimacy = 1
        republican_tradition = 0.5
    }

    trigger = {
        tag = IRE
    }
    free = yes

    irish_endurance = {
        shock_damage_received = -0.1
    }
    the_clanns = {
        same_culture_advisor_cost = -0.2
    }
    more_than_irish = {
        global_unrest = -2
    }
    loyal_catholics = {
        papal_influence = 1
        global_heretic_missionary_strength = 0.02
    }
    ire_abundant_harvests = {
        global_trade_goods_size_modifier = 0.10
    }
    unconquerable_ireland = {
        war_exhaustion = -0.02
     }
    ire_gallowglasses = {
        discipline = 0.05
    }
}

Wow; those are pretty good, especially if you manage to turn Republic with the +0.5 RT. 5% Disc + 10% Morale + -10% shock taken isn't far off something like France.

I'd actually go as far to say playing as Scotland your optimal play is to culture convert to Irish and become Ireland. Main downside is one idea is useless if you're not Catholic; which really sucks when your land is mostly dirt.

What ideas suggestions for england/gb to take, I want to colonize but also have strong units early, quality wise. Innovative, quality then explo, diplo (trying pu game), expansion?

Never get innovative.
Explo can be taken second group, Dip 7 and third idea of Explo is enough to colonize Canada, so if you want to play the Colonial game, I'd say Explo second.
GB now has a lot more starting states, that makes extra states very valuable and gives you even more reason to start with Admin.
As for milgroups, it depends what you want to do. Quality can be a fun one because it also boosts your navy, but you also have the economy to support more men, so I'd go for Offensive, this is the best mix between quality and quantity.

My pick would thus be Admin-Explo-Offensive for a standard game with your criterias. Then some more mil groups, Influence, Diplomatic, maybe Religious if you want it, or Humanist.

You can also play the HRE game, that's a different strategy. Requiring influence and diplomatic in your first 3 groups.

While playing as a Scotland I was privateering Lubeck from the beginning.
Still, after 5 years I am not able to privatere them again.
Option to send my light ships there is not visible anymore.
Why is that?

Does anyone have a list of expansion release dates, from oldest to most recent? Just trying to stay atop of everything, I'm new to steam.

I've noticed blue Permanent Claims starting to crop up a lot, but I can't find much out about them. In my latest game (Savoy), Burgundy suddenly got a Permanent Claim to every province in Romandie - what governs how these are gained?

Permanent claims will never expire even if you culture convert those provinces.

Regular claims will expire after sometime if someone culture convert them. Notice I am not talking about the fabricate kind of claim but core claim that you still have if someone took those land away from you.

You can get permanent claim through nation forming (especially Muscovy -> Russia) and mission.

To add information, the new patch of tuesday reworked missions and gave permaclaims to a lot of major countries.

Have you lost provinces? I never ran into that myself, coudl consistently privateer Lubeck.

Yes, I know that. My question is how AI Burgundy was able to get them.

I took a quick glance at the old 1.24 mission/event. I couldn't find anything about Switzerland/Romainde.

My guess would to be check the new burgundy's missions tree.

Found it! Integrating Nevers was enough to get claims.

If you take a tech increase in the middle of a war, does it apply immediately? Early game, going from tech 4 to 5, to match an aggressor who already has 5. If I take it does it, do I get the benefit, even in the middle of a war?

Well, yes it does, same thing for advisors hired in a war. If it's a morale boost you need to wait the tick of the month for morale to increase, and if that's a new unit type, and you change it in the middle of the war, you'll get 0 morale as any time you change unit type, so be careful.
That also applies in the middle of a battle, except you can't get morale tick.
