Where are these two provinces ? Are they worth something or just tundra ? Can you sell them to Russia ?

This is not a great idea. When he gets these provinces, his interests will update, possibly worsening the situation.
I'm not even sure if you can sell a province to a hostile country in the first place lol.
I think releasing the provinces - as in, pushing the 'return province' button, right? if they're subject it changes nothing - should work, but I'm not certain at all lol. AI lusts after what AI lusts after, and we don't know for sure what's next. Worth a try, imo.
The two provinces are what becomes St. Petersburg, and west up to but not including Narva.

Update: after releasing a 2-province independent minor Novogorod I was able to instantly ally both, and should be able to diplo-vassalize Novgorod to get them back shortly all while keeping the alliance with Muscovy, having effectively changed nothing for them. AI gonna AI.

Going for Anglophile achievement and one of the missions requires vassalizing 3 HRE electors. Tool tip just mentions vassalizing. Wiki says you can dismantle HRE. Both have been notoriously incorrect at times. Can I earn mission by dismantling?
Any advice/suggestions on getting the AI to actually USE their troops in war? The Mamlucks pulled me into a defensive war against the Ottos (which I accepted), and the Ottos proceeded to reck all of MY QQ territory, ignoring the Mamlucks (even the war goal??). The Mamlucks kept 50% of their troops sitting happy back in Cairo. I finally had to peace out, giving up 2 provinces. 2 years later, the Mamlucks + remaining allies are on the march, and the ottos are running away from them???
Should I have ignored the 80K otto troops in my territory and just tried to distract them by sieging down deep in Anatolia? The Ottos grabbed Mil-9 early and totally destroyed anything close to even troop numbers (we were all Mil-8). Even though we were being defensive in the Mountains... is Mil-9 just that powerful? It looks like the Mamlucks have it now, but is that enough by itself?

am I seeing this right, as new world native I barely get gold from goldmines because my religon is pagan?
so there is no way for me to profit from those gold mines unless I convert to catholic?

Not quite, you get the full value of them if you reform your religion. You can stay Totemist/Nahuatl/Mayan/Inti if you want.
Perfectly historical: gold was not used as money in America before the European arrived.
For your second question, I don't know for a native American but I have already deported American minorities (Arawak if I remember correctly) from a stated province in Colombia to Africa as European colonizer. And also Portuguese from Havana to Africa.
If, as a non-member Emperor I move my capital to North America, the selections for HRE Emperor must then come from North America from that point on, no? I'm thinking in terms of a New World Protestant Great Britain game where I pick up HRE after the league war fires. That would necessitate having a catholic nation somewhere in North America, (perhaps a released Colonial Nation) and leaving it as Emperor while the Protestant League wins the war.
Speaking of, how could I join the League war if I can't join the Protestant League itself? Allying the current leader seems a bit unreliable.

I think unless you've passed the sixth reform you cease to be eligible for the emperorship if you skip out on Europe. Dunno how certain that is.
There are two ways for non-Europeans to join the war: Be allied to a league leader or use Enforce Peace. However I don't think either applies for the tech discount or the age requirement.
Did you do that in 1.28.3? If so how?
I tried it in the game as the Inca and as Portugal and neither nation could expel minorities to Africa. Not even to a province which doesn't belong to a trade company region.

Which sounds like if you change your capitals continent to North America as Emperor you can block Europeans from becoming Emperor as only North American countries can become emperor.

I figured such, but why would my nation only then start valueing gold as currency as Catholic? Why wouldn't they after I reformed my religion and catched up on technology with the Europeans?
What if I change religion to Catholic and then change back? Would I lose the ability to gain gold?
I already said, you don't have to be catholic, you just have to reform your religion. Then your Gold Income skyrockets
It doesn't seem to work anymore. I tried it out now. I became emperor as Scotland and moved my Capital to Bermuda. Then I was not eligible(-1000 reasons to vote for me) in the next election. But maybe there are ways to make it work
