TURN 4 UPDATE #2
VAULT CITY
A scientific commission is created by the Vault´s overseer, in order to study the possibility of a controlled use of the nuclear energy still stored in therecently discovered power plant. Not only they realize that the reactor could be reactivated, but the ghouls seem very cooperative and offer themselves to work in the highly contaminated areas, unnaccesible to humans.
(+1 Resouces, can also trade energy with other factions).
This success clearly cheers up the vault dwellers and helps to minimize the cultural impact of working with non-humans,to a point that some dwellers volunteer to create an underground tunnel that will connect the vault underground levels with the Nuclear Power Plant.
The Overseer decides to seize the oportunity, and sends a radio message inviting nearby wastelanders to join Vault City and start living in its vicinities. In exchange of food and protection, hundreds of wastelanders settle in small towns near the power plant, and start enjoying a life in peace and with hopes of actually being happy
(+1 MP next turn).
A mission is also sent to find a suitable spot to install their second GECK, sent to Vault City instead of Vault 8 by mistake, but it is almost impossible to find any opportunity as the GECK needs an inmense source of power to be activated. However, the explorers discover a human settlement in the former state of Oregon...who may be living there?
MUTANTS
Once the surprise of the Ferals attack has passed, Gamorrin orders his troops to redeploy near their southern border and start taking defensive position in the surrounding hills. However, no more attacks come from their southern enemy, and even a ghoul with a red flag appears demanding parlamentary privileges. Although some Mutants feel angry about letting him pass, Gamorrin allows it and meets the ghoul in his own quarters.
ENCLAVE
Cl. Autumn has reasons to be proud, and his reputation starts to grow all over the Wastelands. After years of investigation and hard work, Enclave has finally completed project purity, a pionner plan that allows to convert dirty irradiated water into the healthy and valuable Aqua Pura. Enclave soldiers now benefit from this unending source of pure and drinkable water, and word of such accomplishment start to travel the Wastelands
(+1RES, better chances of successful negotiations with NPC factions and characters).
Enclave is convinced that a fast and military expansion is key to success, and so they send more troops to colonize parts of the Eastern coast. However, as they approach the vicinities of Washington DC, they stop finding cooperative wastelanders and instead they begin to be attacked by hostile bandit groups, who don´t manage to harm any of Enclave soldiers but threaten with cutting their supplies lines. With all their military focused into the conquest of the Capitol Wastelands, they are unable tor respond and decide to retreat to their homeland.
FInally, Autumn takes control of the troops and marches with the Regular division to the Capitol Wasteland. The plan is to start a diversion attack in the city borders, attracting the Mutants while the Elite Division, currently hiding in the city sewers, will pour out and invade the undefended parts of the city while they receive support from Enclave´s Zeppelin squad.
However, the lack of a proper radio communications system and coordination between air and land forces doom this plan since its start. As soon as the Regular divisions begins marching, the Zeppelins take flight and start bombing keypoints of the city, thus letting the Mutants know that something is approaching the city and that defence must be prepared.
Once Autumn arrives to the city outskirts, the Mutants are perfectly entrenched and waiting for Encave´s soldiers, and so the battle starts...if that could be called a battle. From all directions, Enclave´s troops are harassed by enemy fire, and the Mutants successfully coordinate sniper attacks to the officers with their Hunting Rifles with a massive destruction of plain soldiers via some stationed Mutants armed with the overkilling miniguns. The few soldiers that manage to survive and retreat into nearby buildings end with their skulls smashed as soon as they meet the Mutants armed with super-sledges.
Near the Capitol, the Elite Scout Unit realizes they are needed, and they exit the sewers to attack the Mutants. Although the first stages of the attack are pretty successful to Enclave troops and they even manage to enter the capitol, the Mutants supperiority in Hand to hand combat repeals the attack, and only the Power Armor worn by the Scouts avoid another massacre. The Scout´s officer orders a full retreat, and only the intervention of the Zeppelins aloows the soldiers to come home alive.
(Enclave loses its Regular division, Elite Scout Unit returns to the base).
