The Otacan's believe that the Universe and their god of Aots are the same entity. Summary:
A fast reproducing and adaptable race, the Thack believe themselves to be superior to other races, and regularly enslaves other races they have beaten in war or deemed unworthy of respect. They do this in the pursuit of power and to advance their standing and power on the stellar stage.

History:
The Thak started off as a middling intellectual race from the Tropical planet Tcha'ks, teaming with many different sentient lifeforms. Originating from the desert areas of the planet, the Thak quickly learned to adapt and evolve to suite their environment.

The Thak Home world, Tcha'ks has gone through many drastic environmental changes, where the planet went through many celestial events that re-positioned the planet in the solar system over a short period of time (500 years). Tcha'ks has almost been every environmental type at some stage in its history, due to these celestial events, and is currently situated in a reasonably stable orbit, close to their sun.

After the most recent Celestial event, the Xhaeron Catastrophe; where a planet from a different solar system collided with Xhaeron, a secondary planet, which was then ejected from their solar system causing Tcha'ks to alter position changing their extremely long elliptical orbit to a short, circular one quite a bit closer to their sun. The Thak then launched a global offensive capturing and enslaving the now decimated existing species on the planet.

The many environmental changes have forced the Thack to adapt heavily to their environment, which they are able to do so through their ingenious use of their exoskeletons, which they can easily adapt to suit different environments with ease.

The rapid process of environmental change decimated the other populations on the planet, and left the highly adaptable abilities and high reproduction rates of the Thak in an optimal position the consolidate the races of their planets tech and species to make the push forth into hyperspace.

Current Leadership

Supreme Commander Shi Thik'shi

Supreme Commander Shi Thik'shi came from a militaristic background, seizing power extraordinarily quickly considering his young age and position. With ruthless determination and a strong, methodical approach, he deftly seized control of the reins of Power from the previous Ruler. The Thak overall respect his strength and determination to lead them into the greater unknown of space to secure power for their race, with he conditional that he continues to perform.

Culture

The Thak are very xenophobic, as their word view has been self affirmed in their history on the planet. Their meteoric rise from a middling life-form to the dominant one in such a short time span has affirmed to them their superiority to most other races, which has made them quite elitist.

They have driven the previous dominant species on their home planet almost to the point of extinction with their slavery practices, and see other, less capable races as deserving of their positions if they are not strong enough to resist.

The Thak respect strength, and the strong must use the weaker in order to be seen as strong themselves, and to use the enslaved races to serve the needs of the Greater Good.

A short but rapid increase of the use of slavery has enabled the Thack to live decadent but industrious lives. They've nurtured a lively but ruthless merchant class that will stop at nothing to expand their economic opportunities, and a heavy use of slave labour in order to do so.

The Thakian materialism serves dual purposes in that each one reinforces the other, the one as the most efficient means of expansion, and the other as the consolidation of power.

All Thak operate on a hyper meritocracy, they are expected to perform and excel in every job they are assigned. Their positions are highly competitive and Thack that do not perform are quickly relegated to lesser jobs, where social standing is directly correlated with position, power and skill.
 
Interesting. I'm in Japan and wouldn't mind joining. Is there a list of commitments that are required? ie regarding frequency of play and what happens if someone can't make a session etc.

Yes - it's outlined in the Steam group but I'll mention it here too: You should aim to make the session every week. If you can't that's OK, but try to find a sub; if we have a list of reserves/subs they will be an option. Everyone needs to be in this Saturday's session. We'll use Paradox's house rule if someone absolutely can't make it but can't find a sub; that is, the AI-run version of their nation will be immune from DoWs for that session, but not for a second session in a row onwards.

  • The skull in the flag is a reminder of the inevitable mortality which every form of life has in common which each other. When blurring your vision while looking at the flag, the skull almost looks like an egg, resembling the start of life (for the Myrrans). In the background the colors green and white stand for the aspiration of the Myrrans to prevail and thrive in prosperity despite their hostile preference to live in arid worlds.

4) Fluff
  • Concept + Culture and Explanation of Ethos: For the (caveat: slow-breeding) swarm! Thousands of Myrran-generations, over the course of thousands of years, have evolved into an Arthropoid-species, which embraces and welcomes all forms of life (therefore: xenophile). Due to diversity of life there must be more to every- and any-thing than what meets the eye (consequently: fanatic spiritualists). Governed by the wisest and most dedicated spirits of their kind (Theocratic Oligarchy), the Myrrans believe that the greater consciousness they form as society (Natural Socioligists) will bring them eventually eternal enlightment - when populating other worlds as well (Adaptive). The Myrrans will embrace every new discovered species in outer space and seek an understanding based on "live and let live" for the mutual benefit; always eager to exchange knowledge.
  • Current Leadership: Inax Xankikin is regarded to be the "princeps inter parem"; the first among equals - only carrying more responsibility than the other members of the high clergy's council. He has made it his mission to lead the Myrrans to new worlds - and travelling space.
  • History of Nation: Greater Spuxulac has seen a long struggle with many wars for supremacy, which was originally inflicted by several species. The Myrrans have learned from these wars for planetary supremacy on Spuxulac, that warfare is a kind of spiritualism as well - and won't run away from any conflicts that are brought upon them, but accept the challenge as an opportunity for further evolution.

  • The flag resembles that there are always two paths leading into the same direction - even when starting at different points in time (and space). The color of the paths to walk on (and fly by) is grey - as there is no simplistic black and white in the universe; only grey. The background color is red, which resembles the endless bloodshed as a collateral regardless which path we choose. The ring of planets is the Netraxi Administration controlled solar system at the start.

  • Concept: Re-Ma is the eldest son of the high administrator of the Pan-Universal Netraxi Administration. The Pan-Universal Netraxi Administration dominates time and space in every imaginable way and has created their own dimension from which they govern every galaxy, every solar-system, every planet - every particle. The Pan-Universal Netraxi Administration is eternal and has chosen to re-create history in various galaxies in order to deepen their understanding of every(-)thing, that there is to discover.
  • Current Leadership: Coming of age Re-Ma has been sent back in time and space with a small group of fellow Netraxi wayfarers into a random galaxy where he has to prove himself being able to establish a powerful and efficient Netraxi Administration - before a selected group of Netraxi is summoned back into the Netraxi home dimension.
  • History of Nation: Oxinac'Vela is home to this young group of Netraxi from where they shall prevail, prosper and reach... for the stars.
  • Culture and Explanation of Ethos: The Netraxi are fanatic materialists as in mastering all physical matter and energy lies the key to eternity. Or, as the pitiful humans once said, not too long ago: per aspera ad astra! The Netraxi are militarists as well as conflicts are immanent and unavoidable.
