The vale has it on good information that it was this tyrion lannister that the king on the iron throne holds so high who murdered by beloved husband, and whose blade was used in the attempted murder of nephew and the maiming of my dear sister,
when brought into the custody of the vale, he demanded trial by combat, yet was to craven to fight in his own name but instead hired a common brigand to kill the noble ser Vardis Egen through trickery and deceit. the seven did not give him the strength of innocence, in this was only the low cunning that is to be expected of dwarves
the murder of my husband was far from his only crime, when allowed to leave the vale in peace despite his treachery (let it never be said that i am not merciful) he joined forces with the raiders in the mountains with whom he must share some dire kinship and gathered them to further attacks on the vale and its people. by giving these wildmen steel he has cost the lives of many good men of the vale and he must answer for their deaths.
the vale is not unreasonable however, and holds no grudge against his house and family. the actions of the halfman were his alone and we wish no quarrel with his renowned father nor his grace joffery of the iron throne. there needs be no blood be shed for this cause but the halfmans, and the vale does not wish for conflict on his behalf. a lannister pays his debts, and a debt of blood is owed to the vale that must be repaid, the vale's honor demands it.
as to lord leytons insistance that we join renlys cause we hold to our previous statement of neutrality as there is no compelling reason for us to side with any of the 4 legitimate kings nor any threat to the people of the vale once stannis has been pacified.
if the bards need a song i would suggest this composition that marrilion is fond of (courtesy of a wiki of ice and fire) :
He rode through the streets of the city,
down from his hill on high,
O'er the wynds and the steps and the cobbles,
he rode to a woman's sigh.
For she was his secret treasure,
she was his shame and his bliss.
And a chain and a keep are nothing,
compared to a woman's kiss
For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman's hands are warm...
(yes i know that marrilion didnt write it in cannon but its concivable that he could have)
lady lysa arryn, regent of the vale, warden of the east
ooc: in short the vale requests that the halfman be brought to justice and awaits a responce to this and the accusations of jofferys legitimacy from the lannisters while keeping its policy of remaining neutral toward the 4 legitimate kings
new ooc: i was drafting this when the battle of the vale event was posted, i will do an ic responce soon although i question how a force blockading the blackwater and in the narrow sea could protect dragonstone from the north east
