Newbe questions

Is somewhere kind of guide offering discussion on differences between DK and HoI and effects of strategic choices?

I have manual (v1.0 from Steam), but I am looking for discussion on practical effects of brigade changes, decisions etc.

e.g. is it better/recommended/required/worth to take (and which) level of mobilisation? - e.g. only the war-time mobilisation levels replenishe troops strength, but on the opposite is 20% dissent (at the lowest mob. level), which means 9 month to 1 year of spending almost all IC to squash it. And additionally I have seen bad events related to high dissent.
I did not start any game yet, just loaded 1914 scenario and looked around , but It would be strange to loose war in 1914 just because of dissent.

Another Q: Build times ar much longer - is it worth to upgrade?
Since I wont be able to change (nor even upgrade) army in 1914, are somewhere any tips what to do (I am looking for tactical solutions/proposals, not strategic one: go for Belgium, or leave France for now and knock Russia first )

Been searching for awhile, cannot find answers on how to combine, or merge, units, fleets, squadrons, etc...anyone? Thanks.

I'm afraid my English is not good enough to try explaining that, so if you can't find the answer in the manual, try posting a new thread to ask the question. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you a better explanation than me.

Take a look at page 102 of the manual, Merge and Reorganize buttons.
If it's not enough, please a new thread to ask your question.

Hi to all. I have a problem with Darkest Hour. I bought it in Steam and it's don't work. I have tried to change compatibility modes and screen resolutions. But it's don't help. Please help with any suggestion.

Are you running fullscreen? If not, make sure your display is set to 16 bit color depth mode.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question (if not apologies in advance). In the latest patch I have for HOI DH (version 1.03) military leaders can command more units, example Major Generals 3 as opposed to 1, Lt. Generals 6 as opposed to 3 etc. Is it possible to make these changes to Kaiserreich, if so how's it done. I looked about myself to see if I could alter the settings but was stumped :-/

You need to explain what it is that doesn't work. Does the game crash during loading the main menu or when you start a scenario? Does it give a Windows error message or does the game engine?

How do I peace with Nepal? They're the leaders of the allies (Nepal, Bhutan, Haiti, Dominican republic). They refuse all white peaces I offer them. I even dowed and occupied Haiti and the Dominican republic to make warscore go to 100%, but they just refuse to peace. I tried getting military access through India, to occupy them, but I have 0% chances for that, even with +200 relations. Is the only solution really to attack india? I could cheat, but I'd rather learn how to do it legit for multiplayer games.

I don't think white peace ever worked in HoI2 so it doesnt with DH either.

If a ally of mine gets attacked by a country that I have a non-aggression pact with, would I get dragged into that war regardless of my non-aggression pact?

For an old Hoi2 DD/Arma player like me (since 2007), it's very new and HARD, that army units need now nearly a half year to be ready. When I played Germany in HoI2 DD from 1936 -1939 I had nearly 25 tank divisions and about 75 motorized infantery divisions. Now in DH I'm glad, when I have in 1939 50 normal infantery divisions and 1 tank!
How to raise an normal army to make war? Even France got until 1940 more units than Germany.
I feel like a noob now

I would recommend you to check-out some of the AARs (like this one http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...rmany-1936-Cabals-from-the-Meuse-to-the-Memel) to see how other players prepare for the war in DH.

Hi again! Here is a little doubt that has come to me...well, actually 2:

- Does DH Light change with every patch? I always thought it was like playing HOIArma with the improved DH engine and visuals, but now I am unsure.
- What is the difference between DHLight and DHCore? I never tried the last one...

DH has huge slowdown in Windows 8, it was very fast in Windows 7. Arsenal of Democracy has slowdown too in Windows 8. It seems that the problem is with the Europa Engine. Is there a solution?

DHLight is not supported, it only gets a few changes due to the fact that changes to DHFull may affect DHLight too. But there are no specific changes applied only to DHFull.

DHCore is more like Arma with almost nothing from DH.
