What exactly does "The Iron road is cut off" event for Germany? I can't seem to find any info on it.
Germany relied heavily on imports of metal from Sweden during the war. In order to get said metal from Sweden to Germany, Germany needs to either control Narvik or have freedom of movement through the Baltic, which could be controlled by the Soviets or frozen in the winter.
In game terms, if Germany doesn't control Narvik and either the Soviet fleet is in the Baltic or it is winter, Sweden imposes an embargo on Germany. That embargo is lifted once Germany controls Narvik again or the Baltic sea is free.

In "victory point" view mode, there are red dots on some (or all) of the colored territories, indicating--I believe--that they are core territories or some such. Meaning that if you want to annex the country or maybe just turn them into a puppet in peace negotiations, you have to control those spots. The thing is, the red stars are almost always hiding behind the circle indicating an air base. Is there a way of viewing the map without air bases that I am missing? I use, um, the squares to indicate troops, not the sprites, so maybe that's the issue?

I can't seem to find my any folders for Darkest hour. I want to add all in one world in flames to darkest hour 1.04. but I can't find my mods folder. I'm on a pc using windows vista. Please help I'm addicted to DHWIF and I'd like to play it with the 1.04 version. Thanks

Then you need to create the mod folder.
 
Is there a way to make every ideology able to form alliance?

Can a democracy form alliances if they go away from isolationism?

Edit: Reading from the manual and testing, you can offer alliances if you go away from isolationism. But can you turn other nations away from it by influencing them?

and what would that do with the borders? perhaps acceptall is better to force territories to change hands? Germany should get the North they currently occupy. Perhaps also Africa, so I'll have to manually secure the desert (giving them at least a chance to land something down there) Italy should be French puppet nation (they're the ones invading). Not sure about the Italian territories in the Balkans.

It's in db/events/Italy, event 2006014. You have some follow-up events underneath, so take a look at those as well. As far as I know, those subsequent events deal with what the Germans get once Italy collapses.
