DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.0000.0901 32bit Unicode
Strategy First Version

It sputters along, and by 1943 its almost completely unplayable.

Just a thought, can you do a clean install, then instal 1.04 only.
Play a game with NO mods and see if the problem is still there.

It is a clean install with no mods actually.

Im running two copies.

It couldn't be my GFX card could it? I think my memory is more then sufficient :).

I have seen this also, by late 1944 the game is almost frozen, even moving the curser becomes a chore, and I had to freeze the screen to remove the pop-up diplo messages, as just hitting enter seems to stop working at that point.

Could this be a result of the parameters of the units, countries and setup changing as the war progresses?

It was quite infuriating.

I asked about the Mods, because of your sig. ;)
No you have lots of memory.
What is the name of your graphics card and what driver version are you running?

Could it possible be I play with units and not counters and with FOW off?

FOW would effect performance.
Counters vs sprites - don't think so.

Have you checked if anyone has reported this on the bug forum?

Others useing the CORE mod have reported problems with that mod causing extreme memory usage, resulting in slow downs.

Something is happening, since the only people that have had this problem all have CORE on their hard drive.

Okay both of you please try and rename your AVI folder to AVI_back, Then turn off the music.

Also check the size of your save game and report it here.

Which install is the primary install?
The one that the registry points to?

Can you run a DirectX diagnostic for me.

Isn't that what I posted in the first post?

Nope.

From the start menu, go to all programs - Accessories - System information - Then tools pull down menu - DirectX diagnostic tool.
Then run all tests on each page.
