Thank you for helping me!

Make sure your graphic drivers are installed properly and if that's not the problem try to remove settings.script file (under user documents/Cities in motion)

I tryed already, but it still doesn't work.
I tryed to lauch in windowed mode, without Vsync, AA, FA, HDR or shadows but still nothing always the same issue...
I forgot to say I bought a steam version of the game.

I am not sure if that MB has an integrated graphic chip, but if it does, make sure it's disabled so the game can only use the proper card

I have the same issue on an ATI Radeon HD 3650. I'm really not impressed. I gave up trying to fix it months ago as have already done everything that has been suggested here. Is it likely that you'll get a refund? Don't think I can as I purchased this from a store. Won't be buying Paradox/Steam again any time soon.

Dear knewt02, have you ever read the system requirements? And if íou did, have you noticed that the minimum VGA requirements are HD3850? Your card is below that... Or it just doesn't beat the minimum req's. So, if it won't run, only your PC is the problem, not the game. ;)

As a matter of fact I have, but thank you for stating the obvious. The fact that I was able to play the game perfectly well until a few months ago doesn't come into it at all, then? No? Do you really think I would be posting here if that were the issue? I'm tired of people blaming customers who pay hard earned cash for these games when they mess up. "It's your computer", "it's your graphics card"...RUBBISH. This game worked fine until a couple of months ago. I have done absolutely everything that has been advised on these forums and I still can't get the thing to run (as it did for about two months before it just stopped - in case you missed that). Something else you seem to have overlooked is just how many 'customers' this issue is effecting. Whether it is a driver issue or actually something wrong with the game (heaven forfend) I come here for answers, not sarcasm. Thanks.

Have you updated a the VGA's driver? Then clean up up the ATI drivers, and try with the 11.5. Thge last few drivers caused problem's for me too (I used 11.7 for a long time 'cos 11.8 and .9 and .10 was bullshit for my HD3870 CFX configuration.) The new driver's problem is RAGE, AMD's OpenGL drivers suffer from this: If you want to play Rage, you should forget all other OpenGL games.
And I don't play Rage, so I don't know if 11.11 corrects this. 11.11 screwed my HD3870's drivers, and I restored 11.7. So, let's try this.

What's the conclusion of this for Paradox? Try not to use OpenGL, but then MAC users will suck. Now PC users suck.

Zotya84 - apols for previous but I have spent way too many hours trying to fix this and I'm really miffed. It may not be the fault of Paradox, but I can't use what I have paid for, so who am I going to blame/ask for help?

I have done everything you suggest. I rolled right back to 10.1 but still no joy. I don't play rage either.

Is anyone from Paradox attending to this thread or shall I just bin the game? It's a real shame as I thought the game itself was awesome...when I could play it. I won't be purchasing from Paradox again though, until they at least come up with an explanation as to what has happened here and what their customers need to do to fix it.

I do not have a degree in IT - I just want to use a product I paid for.

Hey knewt02,

If the game used to work, it should still do, none of the patches should have affect memory usage or performances.
Can you try to go back in time, and think of all possible changes you have done/have happened on your machine after the last time the game played successfully?
From hardware changes, to software changes including Windows update and in particular driver changes.
Have you already tried reinstalling the game cleanly? As in uninstall the existing copy of it, rename your "User Documents/Cities in Motion" folder to "User Documents/Cities in Motion_old" and start the game.
Finally, how did you acquire the game, was it from Steam or a non-steam portal? You may want to reinstall the original copy, before patches, just to make sure a patch is not a source of issues for you.
For informational purpose, have you purchased any new DLC since the last time you started the game, or used any mods (whether are they still enabled in your current installed version or not)?

Cheers,
