Inferis, you are doing a great job. Just want to applaud you for your efforts. Keep up the great work. I, like heaps of other people, am waiting for the day when you can finally break the map codes. so much depends on you...

Johan, PLEASE give Inferis more hints. He has spent so much time working it out already, i mean, just out of his own motivation without pay and all. He deserve more hints. Just a little bit more hints to help him move on? :)

Personally, I think he's drinking beer and looking and nude women. :p

Anyway, back on topic. Any progress, Inferis?

Hive's quite right. :p

No progress anymore, due to time constraints: I'm leaving in about week for Australia, and there's a mountain of (real) work to be done before that. That's not counting the "people who's like to see me before I leave".

Anyway, don't expect any new info before late March...

When you say "people who's like to see me before I leave", you mean "people who'd like to see me leave" - right? :p

Anyway, not before march?

Darn... oh well, have a nice trip down under. ;)

Bonjour à tous .. Hello with all.

I am happy to see that inferis did not disappear from circulation. During one moment, I believed that it would not return here any more, because its work on the provinces had impressed me so much that I started to buy a software of programming (Visual C++.Net), PaintShop Pro 8.1 as well as mass of books and tutotiaux various to initiate me with this challenge!

On the other hand, I still did not include/understand how Inferis made "to open" the files "tbl". It showed to us different screens (at the beginning of this topic) where it is seen that one can do it, but method is not explained. Indeed, files TBL are attached to format RAW and the provinces were created by a drafting package, that is sour.

Now, if we want to advance in this project, I believe that it is necessary to put our joint resources to really progress. I am available on MSN, my nickname is Domdom, my mall is domi59390@hotmail.com or d.delhez@tiscali.fr.

A bientôt et bonne continuation à tous.. Domdom

So long and good continuation with all. Domdom

Indeed a common effort is what is requaired to solve this..
Youre initiative is priseworthy (ameable)

Actually, I am confident that Inferis is capable of doing it all by himself - as soon as he gets time for it.

"What a man can do in a week, seven can do in a day."

If I knew anything about this, I would help as well. Good luck to anyone who tries to work on it.

just a suggestion, I assume that Europa Universalis 1 uses the same files (or atleast, the same type) to define it's maps, if so, by comparing the two, one could perhaps figure out how to add provinces (since Eu2 has more than EU1)
