Ajusting audio acceleration has no impact. Would you happen to know of any alternative sound drivers to Creative's drivers that are compatible.

This is a very interesting problem. I wonder what changes are done to our systems after the game is run for the first time. Why would the game run the first time you play it, then stop? Even after a re-install and a windows re-install.

This is just a silly thought but, I wonder if HOI is somehow validating the game when your internet is connected. If they think your running a pirated version (which I'm not) they'll disable the game. I haven't tried re-installing the game with my Internet disconnected. Mainly because this idea is a little bit of a stretch.
 
Are you guys running any virus checking software?
If so what program?

Also are you running any TSRs?

Can you each tell me what version of the game you have.

i.e. Strategy First, Pan Vision, ...
 
I got it to work... kinda.

I downloaded and installed the version 1.5 patch witch made the game load up. I played for about 2 hours then closed out and went to bed. When I tried to play the next day, the game crashed when the status bar hit "Loading Graphics."
 
Have you tried 1.05b tweek pack?
 
When you play, do you have the CD in the drive?
 
Can you C&P me the registry entry for HOI?

It is thanks, I will compare it to mine and see if that is the problem.
 
Each time I re-install the patch (1.05b) the game will run a few times then crash at "intializing graphics". I think it's safe to say something is being re-written. I fairly certain it's not a file in HOI. Mainly because the game worked the very first time I installed it.

It's possible there's a registry conflict with another piece of hardware. Creative SB being the most likely culprit or maybe even Geforce. However, if there is, I can't find it.

I'm trying to think of what other aspect of the operating system would tie to the game like the registries. ei. Possible conflict with another windows operating system execuble. However this is a little beyond the scope of my understanding.
 
I am still on the case as well.
I talked to the guys above my pay rate and they had no idea what could be causing this.
