With the release of 1.08 we have, in all likelihood, reached the end of the official patches for EU2. While this has not been confirmed by Johan publically, that's my judgement of the situation.

I'd like to get the stickied Known Bugs and Fixes post updated and corrected once and for all. I know I've let it go for a long time so there are numerous problems with it. There are fixed bugs still listed as unfixed, bugs listed as fixed but still in the unfixed section, and known bugs unlisted.

My idea is to rope you good folks in to help me clean up my mess. Please reply to this thread, one bug per post only, as follows:

- start each post with a paste of the entry as is, particularly including the bug #, as there are a number of duplicate or similar-sounding problems

- for fixed bugs listed as unfixed, please confirm yourself they have been fixed, and if possible in which patch (which should basically only mean either 1.07 or 1.08), and I'll move them to the fixed section

- for unlisted known bugs, please confirm yourself they are still occurring

- for bugs listed as fixed in the unfixed section, please confirm yourself they are fixed and I'll move them as is

- on all the above, if there is extra info that can be added to the bug description to help players find them let me know and I'll add it

Please confine all posts in this thread purely to the above categories, any discussion must go into other threads.

Thank you in advance to The EU2 Faithful (TE2F)!

68. "A city building a fortress during annexation never finishes construction"
Comment: Is this really a bug?

The amended version points out this occurs for any infrastructure build, such as a refinery, judge, or whatever. Are you saying you think it's right that anything at all being built should be lost?

327 : Type: AI | Status: NEW | Severity: ENHANCEMENT
Don't autosend merchants until there are at least two available
Comment: This is a slap in the face of me, the apostle of the Empty Slot technique. What you should do is changing the logic: sending only to empty slots. Then let the AI continue sending to filled up COTs (ensuring that new empty slots are created). This would make the Autosend facility quite good. Not perfect because choice of COT is important as well, as is the question what to do when no empty slots exists (then preferably the AI running the autosend should not send any merchants at all).
But perhaps most important: this is not a bug and thus should not be in the list.

No, it's not a bug and it's not marked as one: that's what the Enhancement bit means. But I'm willing to withdraw it if you don't think it's a good idea. Maybe it should be made an option?

Check out http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43910 - it's very well described but a bug likely to only be seen in extremely specific circumstances. I think I'll LAPSE it.

Wow! That was quite a lot of documentation! Good you remembered it. Perhaps it would be wise to add the hyperlink to the bug entry? In case you leave us or get run over by a car... Heaven forbid :)

This one was raised in http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46949 . IIRC I was able to repro it fairly easily with the steps in that thread, ie:

1. Take England in the GC
2. Move your main army (Henry) to Paris
3. Once there, move your army to another french province and click the “split” button

And I've just confirmed it again - the army that gets split off immediately goes into a retreat. But I will reduce it from MAJOR to NORMAL at it's only ging to be encountered rarely.

Indeed? I am surprised. I thought you couldn't do it anymore. It was intrododuced early this year IIRC that you were unable to reorganise your armies on territory controlled by your enemy in a war. Perhaps it is only the merge menu choice that was incapacitated?

Sorry for the apparent false alarm.

Well, you haven't paid for it

No, just joking. You are right. The present situation is bad, I agree.

The ideal solution would be that whenever a province changes owner the construction and icon depicting that is removed, or the construction is completed. Neither of which is happening today.

First: sorry, I should have inserted a smiley. I was not that serious in my hurt feelings as one could guess from what I wrote :)

I do believe that the proposed enhancement is bad, well at least it is not as good as my proposed enhancement is. Making it an option is of course the best solution. That would be brilliant. E.g. two checkboxes that are normally greyed out but ungreyed if you check the autosend box. These two checkboxes could be
1. Send two at a time
2. Prefer empty slots

But IMO proposed enhancements really have no place in the bug list.

You can then check one or both.

I'm adding thread numbers into the bugs as I edit them.

Merge and Reorganise are indeed disabled, but Split is still there.

If there were more I'd keep a separate list, but as there's only one I'll leave it in there. I'll add in your suggestion though.

Are you sure the construction icon isn't being removed?

No, it remains building the troops, fortress, manufactury, etc., until it is done, then the image disappears, but no troops, fortress or manufactury appear. I can't recall for certain, but I think that the image of a promotion also continues, but no promotion occurs, which would be accurate in the case of tax collectors only, if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: After reloading an annexation of Brittany, with a fortress on the build in Morbihan, along with ships, the ships didn't appear, but the fortress' upgrade did. So maybe this isn't happening as thought anymore.
