I've done some testing, and it doesn't seem to matter what values I modify, only that I do. Do you have any idea on this?

Are you using a proper text editor like Notepad++? If you aren't, the editor you're using may be saving the file with the wrong encoding, which will create the kind of problems you've mentioned.

2. Run HIP.exe. If you have Python 3 or later installed you can instead run this file directly. For non-Windows platforms, that is currently the only way to run the installer

I'm sure that you're aware of this, but on recent versions of Python 3, this won't run unless you replace every raw_input with input. It worked fine for me after the replacements, though.

Yeah, I forgot to update that when I edited the script from being written with 3.3 to 2.7 (due to the installer library I use not working with 3.3). I'll correct that, thanks.

Even if you are using Notepad++ this still might be your problem, as it will sometimes want to use the wrong encoding with defines.lua, so you should always check to make sure that it's not trying to change the encoding.

Will you guys ever make a mac installer? :)

Right now it is *really* painful to do everything manually, because on the mac you cannot simply merge and replace files inside of folders, it just replaces the entire folder and the contents.

Install python2 and run the main.py file... There you have your installer.

Haven't been around in a while, came to get the current versions of VIET and PB and found this.... I'm confused. Are all the packs of HIP usable together now with no problems?

All except VIET Immersion + SWMH.

I'm having a backwards compatibility problem. I started a game with the 08-2 release, in the Czech area in the old gods start date. Now, it's ~1030 or so. After removing everything and applying the update from yesterday, and selecting the same mods to apply within the installer, now the game crashes when I click on the "de jure kingdoms" button in the lower right. De jure duchies and empires don't cause a crash. When I start a fresh game with the new update, the "de jure kingdoms" button does not cause a crash and everything works. Is there a way to fix the problem in my save game or will I need to start over? Is there a error log somewhere that points out what might be going wrong?

thanks

I realize there are probably a host of other more important things to do, but is there any future plans to make it possible to convert ones game to MEIOU and Taxes.

The problem is that the updates of SWMH are not save compatible, because they usualy (always*) change landed_titles file, which defines the de jure borders. The current version has added about 20 new provinces and removed couple of others and that may be the cause of your problems.

* except few bugfix versions

Oh, that's the problem. So, how do you guys play?
If HIP updates come every week, you have to finish the whole campaign in a week?
EDIT: Sorry, elvain, for jumping threads. Just a bit confused with all that compatibilities.

don't worry, SWMH updates usualy take few months :D the research, coding and testing take really long.
again, bugfixing versions are the only exception which may come within few days or a week ;)

As Elvain said, SWMH updates will be the least frequent of the HIP updates :D
