Last nights session saw some good action.
Germany launched its western offensive easily destroying the belgium forces and quickly pushing into france and taking paris and beyond. The French AI is not to bad it lanunched counter attacks which did stop some progress numerous times but they could never reach paris to be of any use. If france is human controlled from games start i can see it being a real pain. Vinchy France followed after a few weeks.
Germany repositioned its forces to face off with the Uk and also moved its armies to luxumburg and the Netherlands and quickly subdued these nations.
German airforces began aggesive areial patrols over the english channel and atlantic look for any fleets which may be attacked and to test the UK air defence. The UK dose have a large amount of interceptors around 1800 and also escourt fighters 900. Not sure if all these are in the UK i wouldnt think so with Italy looming large now they have annexed Greece, suprised the allies havnt DOW on them yet. Mean while Germany has 1200 Heavy Fighters and 500 Interceptors, 800 Tactical bombers, 700 Naval bombers and 200 Escourt Fighters. Early battles around the UK were all won by the Luftwaffee or though UK airpower is solid.
With the new bases in France the German operations to hurt the UK convoy system is continuing with renewed ferocity. UK escourts more then anything else were being sunk every few hours towards session end with Transports added to the mix. The Royal navy is unwilling to venture out of its ports to face the might of Germany, seems after our last battle the brits have lost the stomack to fight. Churchill claims hes wiating for more CV's to arrive, he already out numbers me 10-4 in CV's and out numbers me in all areas of the Navy, but he continues to hide while his brave but foolish merchant men and sailors on the escourts are slaughtered. Soon he will have no choice in the next few months to either face me or suffer terrible losses, once his escourts are depleted it will become alot easier for my subs to find his Transports and do some real damage then.
With Italy looming on the horizon supplies will become cruical in the med theater, with his convoys under immense presure in the atlantic they will then have to run through Italian forces and suffer more losses. Supplies will be the deciding issues and reinforcements to Egypt and Africa will decide the war there.
At present German Naval forces roam the Atlantic unoposed, waiting for the Royal navy to show it self. Now that France is mine i think the UK has waited to long to face my navy, as now i can operate under heavy aircover from fighters with good range and large amounts of naval bombers. That something for me to remeber when i play UK in the future, you have to continuly fight your enemy now to where them down dont let them get settled, easically at sea which is so crucial to the UK.
Very good game heaps of fun. There wont be another session probably for a week with this game as we are all busy at differnt times of the week. Nolan if your up for a scenario game let me know, major is keen as well and will be home about 4-5 today.

Sure bumble bee we can always use more players, were getting enough now that soon when every one has the game and has played we might have two groups of MP games going each with 6 players. Do you have broadband connection, if so what type as this is important. And where do you live?

In our last session Bento Mussolini has expanded the new roman empior to include Yugo,Albania & Greece. While at the same time getting new allies and puppeted nations into his domain. Such as Bulgaria and Romania. As well as luanching 3 new Battleships into it fleet. As well as enlarging its Army with the arrival of new tanks and infantry Dov's.
Sounds like the game is progressing on similar lines to prior HOI1 games in terms of large Axis conquests. Typical warmongering by mike

The RN will fight in the Atlantic. We will compell Mr Hilter to expend the much needed resourses and manpower better spent on preperations for the Eastern Front. Hilter knows to win this war he must defeat his MAJOR rival (hehehe, get it?) the Soviet Union. When the real test for the Nazis comes as it must, the fight against Communism, the Germans will as usual find themselves too weak and fail within a year of the attack.
With the worlds 2 most powerfull warships Bismark and Tirpits now at the bottom of the ocean the RN is enjoying a period of R+R. All ratings are expected to return to duty after enjoying our nations latest holiday "Bismark week". Modern ships are now replacing the older models and soon will set out to destroy the Nazi Navy (whats left of it)
Hilter can pick off the occasional transport and escort if he likes. They are very easily replaced. The RN and our Merchant Marine have the resourses and the resolve to keep the sealanes open.
I say to Mr Hilter ... make the most of your small petty victories in the West while you can. But look to the East. Look to the East and behold your ultimate doom.

I will look to the east with great confidence, this is not hoi and im am in a far stronger position then i ever was in the oringal hoi as i should be. I have only to kick the door in and the whole rotten structure will come down.

Not alot of action for germany one large Naval battle with RN, The HMS Hood was sunk along with a heavy crusier and two destroyers, german loses were 1 CA and a couple of DD. There were a number of aerial battles all which were won by germany over the atlantic and around the channel.
The war against the convoys goes well. From May 23rd - August 18th and 11 week peroid the German Navy and Luftwaffee sunk 55 Escourts and 43 Transports. The German navy has had to work hard to kill convoys due to Churchill placing the convoys under his direct command for fear of Germany sinking all of them.

Great to see how your group has moved on and Im looking forward to lots of great war reports from this thread.
In regards to the issue mentioned on US-UK trade I can say that it is thought of already
The more units the axis have on duty hunting convoys the less the trade efficiency of the trades. If UK is at war with Germany, Germany will be able to affects UK foreign trade. Even when the trade partner is at peace.

Axis diplomacy reached the point of high farce tonight when Italy declared war on the Allies only to discover it then could not allie itself with Germany. The Allies let them off the piano string and allowed El Duce a white peace and to declare war all over again to see if they could get it right. hehehe
Well we are all learning the game I suppose
In the retake of the war in the desert Italy has managed (this time) to push the outnumbered allies back to Alexandria. The 8th Army is now reinforced and reorganised and will soon go on to the counter offensive.
In Ethiopia Allied units are near to trapping the entire Italian garrison there. All supply ports are taken or about to be taken.
The War in the Atlantic drags on with a number of clashes. Too many good ships have gone down but still the supplies are easily getting through. (there is a fantastic stat list that shows all the ships sunk and by who)
Luftwaffa formations still circle our Island like the rabid dogs they are. Only one formation has ever dared to enter british airspace and that was a sneak attack on Scarpa flow very early in the war.
So far the games been great. Cant really fault it. Now we are running at battle speed lags no issue.

Hey thats good news you finaly got the game. Were continuing our MP game on monday night at 7pm due to everyone being busy this week. Were going to contiue the gam until we fight a good russian/german war so then we know how each of the powers stands in hoi 2. So far everything seems well balanced and very fun. Lookfroward to playing with you soon.
To Solitare im not sure if it will be possible to play a long good game with you as lag is a problem with hoi 2, even with all of us on broadband and being in australia. I suggest you look for some people in Korea or Tawian im sure there are a few around. We havem ore then enough players for our games at present.

My modem should be here on Wednesday. Hopefully, everything will work just find and I'll be good to go this week. From what I've read, the Aussie game sounds great. I can't wait and jump in and save the Germans from the Soviet menace (as the US).
Well we have started a new game.
Basicaly everyone is the same countries as befor to applie what they have learned so far. One new addition though is Gezeder playing Canada, his first MP game so a minor so he can get the hang of it and not to unbalance the game to much. 5 players all up.
We are up to late 37 with no real problems. Alot of diplomacy going on with threats over trade deals. The Soviets canceled there trade deals with germany for no reason what so ever, in reply Germany stated it would not recongise soviet aims in eastern europe and would instead take it for it self. Stalin threatened an early war but Hitler knew an early war would only be to Germanies advantage, the soon we strike east the better. Stalin came back to the table and agreed to a reasonable trade deal. Averting a major diplomatic set back for the USSR with not getting the MR pact later on.
Germany and italy entered into a formal alliance in mid 37. This was done mainly to boost italy up a bit since there is a Human Canada which im sure some of there troops will end up in Africa or the ME. This deal was also done as the USSR is being a little more aggressive, so any war involing Germany early will also invole Italy. See what happens with this down the road. Not alot else happening.
We are keen to get a larger game going. If Mad mac, joel and jh want to join start up a larger game in the near future that would be great. Only issue i can think of is Japan, there war with china will slow the game down and also china is hard to beat. So who ever wants Japan i suggest they practice a little in SP ( i already am). Im also upgrading my ISP so i will have 1500/256 connection which will doulbe my upload speed. Should make lag less of a problem. Next session tomorowo night 8pm.
