Can you install the moddir version and continue to play CORE when you want?

There's just the issue of the exe (unless you either have two different exe, one patched for tgw the other unpatched, or you use the generic no time limit patch which still allows playing in outside the 1914-1925 period). And the province.csv file swapping, because both TGW and CORE use their own version of province.csv. As moddir doesn't allow several different province.csvs, you have to swap them before you play.

But how do I do that? Apoligies for my stupidity, look at my name. :)

also, is it just me, or are the major powers' supplies still all set to '0' at the start of the game?

Any help as to how to fix this?

Well there should be a thing called 'no time limit patch' - click on it and set the path to HOI.exe. Then copy the province.csv and paste the province.csv file provided in the download over the top of the one in the HOI folder.

If you look in the main HOI directory, there's a file called hoi.exe. The one you're supposed to patch to remove the 1936-1948 time frame. When you're installing TGW, instead of immediately patching the file, start by making a copy of the file. Call it TGW.EXE, for example. Now run the patcher, and tell it to patch TGW.EXE. Then, create a shortcut to TGW.EXE. Now, instead of adding the tgw parameter to the hoi.exe shortcut, add it to the tgw.exe one. Depending on the shortcut you use, you'll be running normal hoi, core (no need to change that one, as it also points to the unchanged hoi.tgw), or tgw.

However, if you just double click the shortcuts, you'll always be using the same province data. To change that, you have to have a copy of each of the different province.csv. One from TGW, another from CORE and the original HOI one (you can name them province.csv.core, province.csv.tgw and province.csv.hoi). Now, before running the game, copy the corresponding file over province.csv and the game will run with the correct province data.

Hope this isn't TOO cryptic. :)

Also you will want to use the regular No Time Limit patcher.
This will enable you to continue using Hoi.exe for regular HOI.

Using TGW No Time Limit will make Hoi.exe useless for regular HOI (you will need to revert back to the backup the No Time Limit thing made, called Hoi.exe.bak)

So for simplicity's sake use the regular No Time Limit patcher.

Supplies and other stuff is determined in the ..../scenarios/1914/ directory.

Look in the whatever.inc files to check supplies.

This really should not be the case - you are playing the moddir version right?

yes, i am playing with MODdir

no random event cheats !

I`ve played the TGW 1.02b ,, when I try to make event 1013 for boosting the industry .. nothing happen ,,, why ??

I just want to know if the ModDir works???
And if it does, how do I install it??
Should I have other ModDir from other mods??? Should I just install it and then unpack or what??
How do I do, sop I won't make any mistakes???

The reason is precisely what is written in the title of your post - no random events

Unzip it to the Hearts of Iron folder.

Put a shortcut of HOI.exe on the desk and put 'TGW' at the very end of the target. Don't forget to set the target of the No time limit patch to HOI.exe either.

It wont clash with other mods either, as long as they run using ModDir as well.

,,,,

is there a way to activate these events ?

Copy the random events file from the normal HOI folder into the TGW events folder, and then put the line "event = "db\events\RandomEvents.txt" into the events.txt file.

Hey I'm sorry to say this...
But I'm VERY confused!!!
Call me dumm and all that...
But I made a copy of the Hoi.exe thing, and places it on my front/deskop/desk whatever you call it... And then I downloaded TGW.moddir! Then I runned the No-time-limit on the original one... And then Copy all the TGW files and placed them in the old HoI folder and overwrited! That didn't help at all!!! Then I tried to use the moddir on the newest Hoi.exe which I had copied and that... DID NOT HELP!
THen I tried to put the new HoI inside HoI folder and renamed it HoI2!!!
And now there's TGW all over the place, which doesn't work and all things are crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK FUCK FUCK, I am pissed right now!!!
I will find I nice tree and hang meself....
I am too stupid to understand that TGW thing! :(

1 - Delete everything. Install HOI again. Patch to 1.05. Unzip 1.05c.

2 - Download TGW1.02 moddir zip.

3 - Unzip into .../Hearts of Iron/. When this is done, you should see a new directory, TGW. WORD OF WARNING, IF YOUR UNZIPPING TOOL IS TOO OLD THEN THE INCORRECT FILE STRUCTURE WILL BE INSTALLED.

4 - Now run no time limit 1.2. Patch Hoi.exe

5 - Rightclick on Hoi.exe, select properties.

6 - Click create shortcut.

7 - Drag shortcut to desktop.

8 - Rename shortcut to TGW.

9 - Rightclick on shortcut. Select properties. Select submenu shortcut.

10 - In target: you should see "C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Hearts of Iron\HoI.exe" (or something similar)

All you need to do is get the cursor at the end of that string, press spacebar once, then type TGW.

i.e: "C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Hearts of Iron\HoI.exe" TGW

11 - Run TGW by double clicking on this shortcut.
