Ok...
Almost works...
I can now run both versions...
BUT!
I cannot play a normal HoI game... It just end the scenario as I enter it...
And that's the same with the saved games...
WHY?

That sounds like a difficulty associated with the no time limit patch. Standard HOI has probably been set to end in 1924 because of TGW, so when you begin a game in 1936, 1939, 1941 or whenever, it realises that it has passed the end date and tells you that you've won. That's very nice if you like cheap victories, but not great if you actually wanted to play HOI. Ensure that the no time limit patch is not trying to target HOI.exe

Patch, you might have a point in contending that the mod should use the normal (1000-2199) no time limit patch, so that people don't have to keep switching like this.

I just used the no-time-limit on TGW.exe, and that didn't help!!
Then I used the file on HoI.exe, but that didn't help either!!!
What should I do???

You dont need to patch TGW.exe

OK start over again..

This time do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use the no time limit 1.2 TGW

Instead go to roadtowar.com and download the regular no time limit patch.

Here: http://www.roadtowar.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=209

use that one instead.

Follow the instructions above closely and it should work.

Well, I must thank you, cause without your help, I would NEVER have found out what to do!!!
I think it was a bit difficult, but with your splended guidehelp I have made it!
WOHOOOO! :D

OK, so if I want to be able to play "the road to war" and other original scenarios, which one do I download, and once it is downloaded, how do I make it work?

You must download the mod-dir version, and get the generic No Time Limit patch that ptan pointed to.

You'll still run into a problem with the province data in db\province.csv. To make it so that the file is changed to the correct one when starting the game, follow the instructions in my post on the 1.02b Discussion thread (this sub-forum is a mess, useful stuff scattered all over :)).

Hmmmm, um can you please make an auto instalation device for this mod, so you click it like a normal game or most mod instales so files go in the correct directory, thier are soe many things in each area in this mod dont know were to megin lol, ive already mucked the game up 2 times trying to put this mod and trying to make heads or tails of things, be nice to have some thing like an Instalation decive to do this all for you

Any chance of this happening, other wise I cant play this mod...

I think we'll have to include really detailed instructions as to how to install versions of the mod for the next version, as people seem to be getting more confused with this than they would with Japanese-written English instructions on how to assemble a wardrobe.

Part of the problem probably comes from having two versions of the mod. (And having two versions of each of those two versions isn't helping, either :))

im trying th TGW for the first time and ive got a couple of early observations -

some graphic flickering over holland and belguim. dont know what unit is causing it?

the event on june 28 where austia asks for german support, im playing as germany, should nt i get an event for this as well?

curious to know how many events are in the game as well

forget th 2nd point, i got that event on july 10th! it seems to be air units from france, holland and austria that are causing the flickering.

Allenby-

I think the above quote sums up pretty well some of the difficulties people are having. It would be great if everyone could enjoy all of your hard work with an easier installation- you would see posts skyrocket.

I myself have been waiting for your mod for months. I just became so befuddled with installing 1.02b, and no time limits etc. (all user error issues) that I have yet to even try it.

Looks like some new instructions may be out- I''ll try em

Strangely, I don't find them at all difficult, and I can't understand why people are having so many problems!

I think some brightly coloured screenshot illustrations may help the more confused of our audience/users/worshippers.

There's no need to belittle any one. I've downloaded it and fixed it exactly as ordered and I'm still having problems.

No doubt there shall be problems - it's still in beta testing. The difficulties being referred to concern the installation of the mod. To that end, the instructions as to how to get the mod starting in the first place should be made simpler. Having illustrations as a guide would help a great deal, in my opinion, far from belittling anybody.

Thanks to my new Broadband connection I have downloaded the complete MOD and I'm quite impressed, quite a lot of work was done I see, but I get a repeating bug which has been reported.
On August 4th, 1914, at about 21:00, my game as the Russian empire keeps crashing...
Gwalcmai said someone linked a fix to this bug somewhere on this forum but I cannot find it :(. If someone could kindly point this simpleton to where this fix is... (should really post a link in one of the sticky threads as a temp fix)
But apart from that, good work :)
